<br />13 <br /> <br />regular meeting, july 22, 1974 page three <br /> <br />on second reading: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH <br />REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, <br />STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY <br />CHANGING THE ZONING OF ABSTRACT TWO, TRACT 37, LOT SIZE <br />85 FEET X 114 FEET IN THE T.J. CHAMBERS ADDITION, LOCATED <br />AT 116 LAMAR STREET, FROM "R-l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) <br />TO "M" (MIXED). <br /> <br />Mrs. Shirley Wickersham was present to speak for the zoning <br /> <br />change. Rev. C.T. Wharton spoke in opposition to the <br />of zoning. Mr. Dibrell moved approval of the motion. <br />Cunningham seconded the motion. On a roll call vote, <br />following was recorded: <br /> <br />change <br />Mr <br />the <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br />ABSTENTION: <br /> <br />Breihan, Cunningham, Dibrell, Flores <br />Craddock, Sutton <br />Hansen <br /> <br />In the presence of a petition signed by 20% of the property <br />owners within 200 feet of the property in question who objected <br />to the change, the ordinance was not approved on second reading <br />since,a two-thirds majority vote is required by State Law to <br />approve such an ordinance, and the request for a change in <br />zoning was denied. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock read the caption of the following ordinance <br />on third and final reading: <br /> <br />I <br />II <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS AMENDING <br />THAT CERTAIN ORDINANCE DATED MARCH 8, 1971, ESTABLISHING <br />A__ BOARD TO ADVISE THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF IN MATTERS CONCERNING THE ENVIRONMENT <br />BY DELETING SECTION 2 OF SUCH ORDINANCE AND ENACTING A <br />NEW SECTION NUMBERED 2 BY ALLOWING MEMBERSHIP TO SUCH <br />BOARD BY CITIZENS LIVING WITHIN THE EXTRATERRITORIAL <br />JURISDICTION OF THE CITY. <br /> <br />Mr. Dibrell moved approval of the ordinance. <br />seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br />was pa'ssed" approved and adopted. <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton <br />The Qr_dinance <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock read the caption of the following ordinance <br />on third and final reading; <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS CHANGING THE NAME OF <br />BOYNTON STREET TO FRANKLIN DRIVE. <br /> <br />Mr. Flores moved approval of the ordinance. Mr. Hansen <br />seconded the motion. The ordinance was passed approved <br />and adopted unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced an award of bid for a front end <br />loader for the cemetery. Mr. Truman Fenley, the only bidder, <br />submitted a bid of $3,050.00. Mr. Dibrell moved to award <br />the bid to Mr. Fenley. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock asked the Council to receive a report from <br />the Room Tax Committee and also consider approval of the <br />contract between the Chamber of Commerce and the City <br />regarding the Hotel/Motel Room Tax. Mr. Jim Hearn and Mr. <br />Leo Poore were present to review the report and contract <br />with the Council. (Contract is attached) Mr. Cunningham <br />moved to accept the contract. Mr. Dibrell seconded the <br />motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />,Mayor Craddock asked the Council to consider appointments <br />to the Housing Authority Board.
