<br />3 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE 1981-27 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS DECLARING THE RESULT OF <br />THE REGULAR CITY ELECTION HELD APRIL 4, 1981, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, <br />convened on April 6, 1981 in Special Session, open to the public, <br />at the regular meeting place thereof with the following members <br />present, to-wit: John J. Stokes, Mayor Pro-Tempore, Council <br />Members, Karl Brown, Robert L. Cavazos, Berry R. James, Tess Norris, <br />Ed Tarbutton; and City Secretary Mae L. Cephas; and the following <br />members absent: None; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said members present constituted a quorum; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said members considered the returns of an election <br />held on the 4th day of April, 1981, for the purpose of electing <br />the hereinafter named officials, and for considering whether to <br />adopt extended hours of operation for holders of mixed beverage <br />permits and wine and beer retailers permits in the City of <br />San Marcos, and it appearing from said returns, duly and legally <br />made, that there were cast at said election2',SS3valid and legal <br />votes; that each of the candidates in said election received <br />the following votes: <br /> <br />FOR COUNCIL MEMBER, <br /> <br />PLACE 3 <br /> <br />NAME OF CANDIDATE <br /> <br />TOTAL NUMBER OF VOTES <br /> <br />JOHN J. MENDEZ <br />ED TARBUTTON <br /> <br />391 <br />1102 <br />1176 <br /> <br />FOR ADOPTION OF EXTENDED HOURS <br />OF OPERATION FOR HOLDERS OF <br />MIXED BEVERAGE PERMITS AND WINE <br />AND BEER RETAILERS PERMITS IN <br />THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br /> <br />FOR <br />AGAINST <br /> <br />722 <br />1835 <br /> <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Secretary of the City of San Marcos, <br />Texas, duly posted notice of said meeting at least seventy two <br />(72) hours prior to said meeting, and said notice remained posted <br />for said seventy two (72) hours; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1: That the Regular City Election of April 4, 1981 <br />was duly called, that notice of said election was given in <br />accordance with law, and that said election was given in accord- <br />ande with law. <br />
