<br />l8~ <br /> <br />regular meeting, march 24, 1975 <br /> <br />page three <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of a Resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCI~ OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />PRELIMINARILY APPROVING A DEFERRED COMPENSATION PLAN FOR CITY EMPLOYEES <br />AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO SUBMIT SAID PLAN TO THE INTERNAL <br />REVENUE SERVICE FOR APPROVAL. <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved approval of the Resolution. Mr. Cunningham seconded tne motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration authorization of an expenditure in the <br />amount of $8,000 from the general contingency fund for payment to Black and <br />Veatch, Consulting Engineers, for services in connection with a study of electric <br />rates of the Lower Colorado'River Authority. Mr. Hansen moved approval of <br />authorization for the expenditure in the above stated amount. Mr. Dibrell <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />/e.C4hi,) "Ill The Mayor introduced for consideration award of bid for a fence for the softball <br />rb~h:#J,Jt. field: Mr. Breihan moved the awar4 be made to Stanley Hughson on the basis of <br />A;4~L~#t having submitted the lowest and best bid. Mr. Cunningham seconded the motion. <br />+h" '-t:' J.I Rick~Dariiels,' the only other bidder, came before the Council to question the <br />l'A~u, ,< 'propriety of having bid the project twice as well as consideration of Mr. Hughson's <br />"U bid since he, Mr. Hflghson, was currently running for election to the City Council. <br />The City Manager reported that the project had been bid twice because of some <br />confusiancsurrounding the first bid as well as the fact that only one bid had <br />been received. The City Attorney stated that, in his opinion, the Charter pro- <br />hibited Mr. Hughson from contracting with the City due to his membership on the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission., On roll call, the vote to award the bid to <br />Mr. Hughson was recorded as follows: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AYE: Breihan, Cunningham, Dibrell <br />NAY: Craddock, Flores, Hansen, Sutton. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion <br />Rick Daniels in the amount of <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />failed. <br />$5,000. <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved to award the contract to <br />Mr. Cunningham seconded the motion, which <br /> <br />Mr. Breihan moved to award the <br />Company in the total amount of <br />which pass~d unanimously. The <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton moved to award the bid for a truck chassis for a compaction body to <br />Red Simon Ford Company in the amount of $14,497.00. Mr. Breihan seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />bid for three police vehicles t9 Glosson Godfredson <br />$l3,744.l7. Mr. Cunningham seconded the motion, <br />bid sheet is attached and made a part of these minutes. <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved to award the bid for a side loading compaction unit to Davis <br />Trucks in the amount of $11,000. Mr. Breihan seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration the appointment of two members to the <br />Library Board. The nominations were: Mrs. Geneva Gomez, Dr. A.A. Grusendorf, <br />Mrs. Margie Villalpando, and Mrs. Sallie Bowles.
