l8~ regular meeting, march 24, 1975 page three The Mayor read the caption of a Resolution as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCI~ OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, PRELIMINARILY APPROVING A DEFERRED COMPENSATION PLAN FOR CITY EMPLOYEES AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO SUBMIT SAID PLAN TO THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE FOR APPROVAL. Mr. Hansen moved approval of the Resolution. Mr. Cunningham seconded tne motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor introduced for consideration authorization of an expenditure in the amount of $8,000 from the general contingency fund for payment to Black and Veatch, Consulting Engineers, for services in connection with a study of electric rates of the Lower Colorado'River Authority. Mr. Hansen moved approval of authorization for the expenditure in the above stated amount. The City Manager reported that the project had been bid twice because of some confusiancsurrounding the first bid as well as the fact that only one bid had been received. The City Attorney stated that, in his opinion, the Charter pro- hibited Mr. Hughson from contracting with the City due to his membership on the Planning and Zoning Commission., On roll call, the vote to award the bid to Mr. Hughson was recorded as follows: I AYE: Breihan, Cunningham, Dibrell NAY: Craddock, Flores, Hansen, Sutton. Mr. Hansen moved to award the bid for a side loading compaction unit to Davis Trucks in the amount of $11,000. Mr. Breihan seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor introduced for consideration the appointment of two members to the Library Board. The nominations were: Mrs. Geneva Gomez, Dr. A.A. Grusendorf, Mrs. Margie Villalpando, and Mrs. Sallie Bowles. On roll call, the Council voted for two nominees as follows: I BRElHAN CUNNINGHAM: DIBRELL: CRADDOCK: FLORES: HANSEN: SUTTON: Gomez, Grusendorf Villalpando, Bowles Gomez, Grusendorf Villalpando, Bowles Gomez, Bowles Villalpando, Bowles Villalpando, Bowles Mrs. Villalpando and Mrs. Bowles having received the most votes were declared appointed to the Library Board.
