1 REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APRIL 14, 1975 Present: Mayor Emmie Craddock Councilmen Frank T. Arredondo Ted Breihan William L. Cunningham Bill Dibrell Luciano H. Flores John Hansen Kenneth E. Sutton I City Manager City Secretary City Attorney Director, Finance Director, Public Works James B. Baugh Doriss Hambrick Tom Akins Earl T. Williams William T. Friedrich Also present: Mrs. Anne Craddock; B.F. Davidson; Mrs. F.T. Arredondo; Rosa1io Tobias; J. Searcy Smith; Mrs. Kay Burton; Miss Eden Moseley; Warren Leddick; Mrs. Ofelia Vasquez; George Vandervort; Jerri Martin; Terry Roberts; Melissa Millecam; Jim Cunningham; and others. The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting held March 24, 1975, were introduced for approval. Mr. Sutton moved they be approved. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion. Mr. Breihan requested they be amended by indicating the location of the softball field referred to in the third paragraph on the third page. On roll call, the vote was unanimous to approve the Minutes as amended. I The Minu~es of the Special Meeting held April 2, 1975, were approved as presented on motion of Mr. Sutton and second of Mr. Hansen. Mayor Craddock issued a Proclamation designating the week of April 14 through April 20 as International Women's Week. The Mayor next presented a plaque to outgoing Councilman William L. ,Cunningham in appreciation for his service as Councilman from the citizens and City Council. The City Attorney administered the Oath' of Office to Mr. Frank T. Arredondo and Dr. Emmie Craddock. Dr. Craddock opened the floor to 'nominations for Mayor. Mr. Breihan nominated Councilman Bill Dibrell. Mr. Arredondo nominated Dr. Emmie Craddock. There being no further nominations, the Council voted by roll call as follows: DIBRELL: CRADDOCK: Breihan, Dibrell, Sutton Arredondo, Craddock, Flores, Hansen. Dr. Craddock was declared Mayor. The floor was opened to nominations for Mayor Pro Tempore. Mr. Arredondo nominated Councilman Dibrell. Mr. Dibrell declined the nomination, stating that he felt it inappropriate for both the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tempore to be'representatives of the University community. Mr. Flores nominated Councilman Hansen. Mr. Breihan nominated Councilman Sutton. Mr. Sutton declined the nomination. Mr. Hansen nominated Councilman Flores. The Council then voted by roll call as follows: I Arredondo: Flores Breihan: Flores Dibrell: Flores Craddock: Flores Flores: Abstain Hansen: Flores Sutton: Flores. Mr. Flores was declared Mayor Pro Tempore.
