<br />2 <br /> <br />regular meeting, april 14, 1975 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />Mrs. Kay Burton, President of the Library Board, carne before the Council with <br />a brief report on the activities of the Board, including plans for observing <br />National Library Week, April 13 through 19. " <br /> <br />The Mayor opened a Public Hearing to consider a request for the disannexation of <br />property owned and occupied by the Hughson Meat Company near Ranch Road 12. <br />Mr. J. Searcy Smith, President of Hughson Meat Company, carne before the Council <br />to request the disannexation. ,Mr. Smith was accompanied by an attorney for the <br />Company, Mr. Gary. The Council discussed the situation with both gentlemen. The <br />Mayor closed the hearing and read the caption of the ordinance approving the <br />disannexation as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, DISANNEXING CERTAIN REAL <br />PROPERTY PRESENTLY INCLUDED WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMTTS OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Dibrell moved approval of the Ordinance on first reading. Mr. Hansen <br />seconded the motion. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Breihan, Dibrell, Craddock, Flores, Hansen <br />NAY: Arredondo, Sutton. <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion passed and the Ordinance approved on first reading. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration a Follow-up Order authorizing the <br />disbursement of 17 Certificates of O~ligation in the total amount of $85,000 and <br />cash in the amount of $2,138 for claims incurred in the construction of the new <br />city hall by Bohlmann, Inc., and declaring an emergency. Mr. Breihan stated his <br />dissatisfaction with the pre-cast materials and requested the Council consider <br />authorizing payment of 60% only for pre-cast materials instead of the 80% <br />recommended by the architect and contractor. Mr. Sutton moved that only the 60% <br />payment be authorized for pre-cast materials. Mr. Breihan seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. Mr. Breihan moved approval of the Follow-up Order, as <br />amended by the previous motion. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE 1971-4 <br />ESTABLISHING THE ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE BY ADDING TWO (2) NEW <br />MEMBERS TO SAID COMMITTEE, PROVIDING FOR STAGGERED TERMS FOR ALL OF THE <br />MEMBERSHIP AND PROVIDING FOR THE MANNER OF REPORTING TO THE CITY COUNCIL. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an Ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved approval of the Ordinance on first reading. Mr. Breihan <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of a Resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, COMMENDING <br />THE ELECTION OFFICIALS SERVING IN THE REGULAR CITY OFFICERS' ELECTION <br />APRIL 1, 1975. <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved approval of the Resolution. Mr. Sutton seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of a Resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE ClTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />ESTABLISHING FEES AND HOURS OF SERVICE FOR THE MUNICIPAL SWIMMING <br />POOL, FEES FOR USE OF THE CITY PARK RECREATION CENTER, AND FEES FOR <br />SPECIAL USE OF SOFTBALL FIELDS. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton moved approval of the Resolution. ,Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br />
