Backus; Frances Marshall; Geneva Gomez; <br />Mr. & Mrs. George Flores; Mrs. Frank Arredondo; Jim Witt; <br />Jerri Martin; Melissa Mi11ecam; Terry Roberts; and others. <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The Minutes of the Regular Meeting held June 9, 1975, were approved on motion <br />of Mr. Sutton and second of Mr. Hansen. <br /> <br />The Minutes of the Special Meeting held June 16, 1975, were approved on motion <br />of Mr. Hansen and second of Mr. Breihan. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock issued a proclamation of Gratitude to Commissioners of the Hays <br />County Commissioner's Court in appreciation of assistance given the City in <br />removing debris created by a wind storm and mowing park property. The Mayor <br />also issued a Proclamation designating the "Christian Witness Nights" program. <br /> <br />The Mayor opened the floor for nominations to fill the single vacancy on the <br />Board of Equalization created by the resignation of Dr. John Fitch. No nominations <br />were received. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock opened a Public Hearing to consider a request for a change in zoning <br />of Lots 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and part of 10, Block 1 of the D.P. Hopkins Second Addition <br />from "c" to "C-2". Mr. Walter Davis was present to represent the applicant, <br />Mrs. Mildred Reeves. Mr. Davis stated that the change was desired to allow the <br />applicant to acquire a on-premises wine & beer retailer's permit for the establishment <br />at that location, not because they wished to serve same for on-premises consumption, <br />but to protect the management in the event wine or beer sold for off-premises <br />consumption was opened on the property. No objections were presented to the Council. <br />The Mayor closed the hearing and read the caption of an Ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3. OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND <br />RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, <br />DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOTS 5, 6, 7, <br />8, 9, AND' ~ART OF 10, BLOCK 1 OF THE D.P. HOPKINS SECOND ADDITION, <br />LOCATED AT 307 SOUTH L.B.J. DRIVE, FROM "c" (COMMERCIAL) TO "C-2" (COMMERCIAL). <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Arredondo moved approval of the Ordinance on first reading. Mayor Craddock <br />seconded the motion. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Arredondo, Craddock, Flores, Hansen, Sutton <br />NAY: Breihan, Dibrell. <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Ordinance approved on first reading. <br />
