<br />58 <br /> <br />regular meeting, june 23, 1975 <br /> <br />page three <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock read the caption of an Ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />II <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THAT CERTAIN <br />ORDINANCE WHICH ESTABLISHES THE CLASSIFICATION OF ALL POLICEMEN AND <br />FIREMEN, THE NUMBER OF POSITIONS OF EACH CLASSIFICATION, AND THE <br />SALARY IN STEPS FOR EACH CLASSIFICATION, BY AMENDING THAT SECTION <br />NUMBERED 2-31 ENTITLED "JOB CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY" SO AS TO <br />CREATE THE POSITION OF FIRE TRAINING OFFICER OF THE FIRE SERIES, <br />AUTHORIZING ONE SUCH POSITION, ESTABLISHING A SALARY SCHEDULE FOR <br />SUCH POSITION AND REDUCING THE NUMBER OF AUTHORIZED FIRE CAPTAINS <br />FROM 4 TO 3 IN NUMBER. <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton moved approval of the Ordinance on second reading. Mr. Arredondo <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration the selection of a firm to conduct <br />the 1974-1975 City Audit. She reported that the following three firms had been <br />interviewed by the full Council: Harold Simpson Company, Alexander Grant Company, <br />and Peat, Marwick & Mitchel Company. Mr. Sutton moved the company of Peat, <br />Marwick & Mitchel be designated as the firm to conduct the audit. Mr. Breihan <br />seconded the motion. Mr. Arredondo stated that he felt that Peat, Marwick & Mitchel <br />was a good company, but that it had done no recent governmental work. Upon the <br />request of other Council members, Mr. Sutton withdrew his motion to allow the <br />Council to vote for one of the three companies by roll call as follows: <br /> <br />HAROLD SIMPSON: <br />ALEXANDER GRANT: <br />PEAT, MARWICK & MITCHEL: <br /> <br />None <br />Arredondo, Craddock, Flores <br />Breihan, Dibrell, Hansen, Sutton. <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock declared the firm of Peat, Marwick & "Mitchel designated as the <br />official city auditors for 1974-75 audit. <br /> <br />Mr. L.O. Backus came before the Council with a petition requesting improyement <br />of the storm drainage system in the central business district. The petition was <br />received by the Council. <br /> <br />II <br /> <br />The Council directed the staff to place discussion of a proposed industrial <br />development on the Workshop Agenda for Monday, June 30, 1975. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 9:50 <br /> <br />p.m.~~ <br /> <br />/ <br /> <br />~4-- <br /> <br />~~ <br /> <br /> <br />Frank T.
