<br />Mayor Craddock opened a Public Rearing to consider a request for a change in
<br />zoning of Lot ll, Block 10 of the C.D. Wallace Addition from "R~l" to "C-2".
<br />The applicant, Mr. Adolfo Gaitan, was present to request the change.
<br />Present to object to the change were George Christ and Henry Gonzales, both
<br />property owners within 200' of the property in question. The Mayor noted that
<br />the Planning and Zoning Commission had recommended denial of the request and
<br />that a petition in objection to the change had been presented by 1llOre than 20%
<br />of property owners within 200' of the requested change. The Mayor closed the
<br />hearing and r",a,d the "caption of an Ordinance as follows:

<br />Mr. Sutton 1llOved the Ordinance not be approved, Mr. Breihan seconded the
<br />motion, which passed unanimously.

<br />The Mayor opened a Public Hearing to consider a request for a change in
<br />zoning of approximately four and one-half acres in the J.M. Veramendi
<br />League Number Two from "c" to "C-2". Glen Lane, innkeeper of Holiday Inn,
<br />came before the Council to request the change. No objections were presented.
<br />The Mayor closed the hearing and read the caption of the Ordinance as follows:

<br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES
<br />AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND
<br />LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF FOUR AND
<br />ONE-HALF ACRES IN THE J,M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE NUMBER TWO, BEING THE
<br />PRESENT LOCATT.ON OF THE HOL!DAY INN, AND LOCATED NEAR THE INTERSECTION
<br />OF LR. 35 SO'[J']J!BOUND ACCESS ROAD AND LOOP 82. FROM "c" (COMMERCIAL)
<br />TO "C-2" (COMMERCIAL).

<br />Mr. Hansen moved approval of the Ordinance on first reading. Mr. Sutton
<br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

<br />NO. 13D-6, LOCATED WITHIN THE .roAN VERAMENDI PROJECT. N.D.P., TEX.
<br />A-6, TO AL LOPEZ, SOLE PROPRIETOR; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

<br />FIREMEN, THE NUMBER OF POSITIONS OF EACH CLASSIFICATION, AND THE
<br />SALARY IN STEPS FOR EACH CLASSIFICATION, BY AMENDING THAT SECTION
<br />NUMBERED 2-31 ENTITLED "JOB CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY" SO AS TO CHANGE
<br />THE NUMBER OF AUTHORIZED POSITIONS FOR FIRE TRAINEE AND FIREFIGHTER
<br />FROM 22 IN NUMBER TO 17 IN NUMBER.
