155 REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, DECEMBER 8, 1975 Present: Mayor Emmie Craddock Councilmen Frank T. Arredondo Ted Breihan Luciano H. Flores John Hansen I City Secretary Director of Finance (Acting City Manager) Director ,of Public Works Doriss Hambrick Earl T. Williams William T. Friedrich Absent: Councilman Kenneth E. Sutton Ci ty Manager Ci ty Attorney James B. Baugh Tom Akins Also present: Mr. & Mrs. C.D. Marshall; Bob Hyatt; James Farmer; Beverly Archer; Melissa Millecam; Jim Witt; Jerri Martin; Paul Alexander; Terry Roberts; and others. The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting held November 24, 1975 were presented for consideration. Mr. Hansen moved their approval. Mr. Flores seconded the motion. Mr. Arredondo requested they be amended to reflect his affirmative vote on the motion to approve first reading of the ordinance regulating the sale and display of glue and paint (page two, line 33). On roll call, the motion to approve the Minutes as amended passed unanimously. I Mayor Craddock read a letter received from Gene Phillips of Aquarena, Inc. expressing appreciation for the efficient manner in which members of the Fire ,Department extinguished a fire in Texana Village at Aquarena Springs. On motion of Councilman Breihan and second of Councilman Hansen, the December 22 regular meeting was rescheduled for Monday, December 15, 1975 at 7:30 p.m. with a workshop session to receive a report from the Landscape Architecture class from A&M University on the San Marcos River development project scheduled for December 15 at 5:00 p.m. The vote was unanilllous. The Mayor read a Resolution, the caption of which is as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, EXPRESSING ITS APPRECIATION TO THE SAN MARCOS CONSOLIDATED INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT AND MEMBERS OF THE VOCATIONAL EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR WORK PERFORMED IN THE REPAIR OF PARK MAINTENANCE EQUIPMENT. Mr. Hansen moved approval of the Resolution. Mr. Arredondo seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mr. Bob Hyatt and members of the Vocational Education Program were present and recognized by the Council. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration the appointment of one person to fill a vacancy on the Planning and Zoning Commission. She announced that only one nomination had been received, that of Charles Caffey. Mr. Arredondo moved to table consideration of the appointment until the next meeting. Mr. Breihan seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. I Mr. Arredondo moved approval of the appointment of Alex Flores to the Parks and Recreation Board to fill an unexpired term of one year, Mi', Hansen seconded the motion which passed with four votes in favor and Mr. Flores in abstention. Mayor Craddock moved to appoint Councilman Arredondo to serve on the Capital Area Planning Council General Assembly. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which passed with four votes in favor and Mr. Arredondo in abstention.
