<br />156 <br /> <br />regular meeting, december 8, 1975 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration the disposition of the old city hall <br />building. Mr. James Farmer, representing Texas Museum of History, Inc., <br />restated an earlier request that the Museum Committee be allowed to use the <br />old building as a temporary museum for the year 1976. Mr. Farmer informed the <br />Council that no renovation of the building would be done, that it would be <br />cleaned and painted. Mr. Breihan stated his contention that neither the city <br />nor the museum committee would benefit by using the old building as a museum, <br />and that the museum committee should lease a temporary building for the site <br />designated near the Police and Courts Building. Mayor Craddock moved to allow <br />Texas Museum of History, Inc. to utilize the building, at no cost to the city, I <br />for a period of one year ending December 31, 1976, to require a 30-day notice <br />should Texas Museum of History vacate the building prior to December 31, 1976, <br />and to prohibit structural changes to the building without Council approval. <br />Mr. Flores seconded the motion. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Craddock, Flores, Hansen, Arredondo <br />NAY: Breihan. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an Ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINAllCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 16, <br />"MISCELLANEOUS OFFENSES AND PROVISIONS", ARTICLE I, BY REPEALING <br />SECTIONS 16-2 (a) AllD (b) PROHIBITING THE SALE OF GLUE, CEMENT, AND <br />CERTAIN OTHER SUBSTANCES AND ENACTING A NEW SUBSECTION (a) AND (b) <br />TO SEC. 16-2 PROHIBITING THE SALE OF AEROSOL PAINT CONTAINING TOLUOL <br />OR TOLUENE TO PERSONS UNDER 17 YEARS OF AGE Al~ REQUIRING COMMERCIAL <br />ESTABLISHMENTS OFFERING SUCH SUBSTANCES FOR SALE TO REMOVE SUCH <br />SUBSTANCES FROM PUBLIC ACCESS DISPLAYS. <br /> <br />~~. Hansen moved approval of the Ordinance on second reading. Mr. Breihan <br />seconded the motion. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Craddock, Hansen, Arredondo, Breihan <br />NAY: Flores. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an Ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />All ORDINAllCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF, THAT ORDINAllCE WHICH REGULATES AND <br />RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, <br />DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOTS 4, 5 AND 6, <br />BLOCK 7 OF THE C.D. WALLACE ADDITION, LOCATED AT 208 LAREDO STREET, <br />FROM tlR_l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "P-2" (PUBLIC USE). <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved approval of the Ordinance on third and final reading. <br />Mr. Arredondo seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock. making reference to a recent news story on the utilization of <br />Dunbar Park, recognized Frances and Courtenay Marshall who were present at the <br />meeting, and thanked them for their gift of the park to the city as well as <br />their donation of recreational equipment for the facility. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock requested a Resolution be prepared for the next meeting urging <br />support for the continuation of the federal revenue sharing program. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m. <br />Mr. Breihan. <br /> <br />~~A4 <br /> <br />Frank T.
