<br />189 <br /> <br />regular meeting, january 26, 1976 <br /> <br />page three <br /> <br />The Mayor read an Ordinance, the caption of which is as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />CLOSING AND ABANDONING CERTAIN PORTIONS OF WOOD AND COMET STREETS, <br />AND A PORTION OF THE NORTH-SOUTH ALLEY BErWEEN McGEHEE AND NORTH- <br />CRAFT STREETS IN THE KATY ADDITION TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, AND <br />RELINQUISHING TO THE ADJACENT OWNERS, THE URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY OF <br />THE CITY OF SAIl MARCOS,. MARIAIl NELSON MEEKS, AND CHARLES VILLASENOR, <br />ALL RIGHT, TITLE, AND INTEREST OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, IN <br />AND TO"POBTIONS OF WOOD AND COMET STREET AND THE POBTION OF THE NORTH- <br />SOUTH ALLEY PARALLEL TO McGEHEE AND NORTHCBAFT STREETS AND DIRECTING <br />THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER TO SAID PERSONS QUITCLAIM DFJEDS TO <br />POBTIONS OF WOOD AND COMET STREETS AND SAID POBTION OF THE NORTH- <br />SOUTH ALLEY. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Flores moved approval of the Ordinance on first reading. Mr. Arredondo <br />seconded the motion. Mr. Breihan s:tated his objection to conveying several <br />pieces of property by one instrument. On roll call, the motion to approve the <br />Ordinance passed with the following vote: <br /> <br />AYE: Sutton, Arredondo, Craddock, Flores, Hansen <br />NAY: Breihan. <br /> <br />The Mayor read an Ordinance, the caption of which is as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE PRICE AND CONDITIONS OF THE SALE BY THE <br />URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SAN MARC OS, TEXAS, OF PARCEL NO. <br />6-1 (SEE LEGAL READING), LOCATED WITHIN THE JUAN VERAMENDI, PROJECT <br />N.D.P., TEX. A-6, TO LEO P. CLOUD, JR. AND SON, PARTNERSHIP; AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved the adoption of the Ordinance. Mr. Arredondo seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read an Ordinance, the caption of which is as follows: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND ADOPTING AMENDMENT NO. 3 TO THE URBAN <br />RENEWAL PLAN FOR N.D.P. PROJECT TEX. A-6, FINAL ACTION YEAR, AND <br />DIRECTING THAT SAID CHANGE BE FILED AS PART OF THE URBAN RENEWAL <br />PLAN FOB SAID PROJECT. <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton moved approval of the Ordinance on first reading. Mr. Hansen seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration the award of contract for curb and gutter <br />construction for the coming year. Mr. Hansen moved the contract be awarded <br />Phoenix Concrete Construction of Austin for $2.50 per linear foot of curb and <br />gutter section. (see bid sheet attaChed) Mr. Flores seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of a Resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING TWO AGREEMENTS BETWEEN THE STATE OF TEXAS, THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, AND THE MISSOURI PACIFIC RAILROAD COMPANY FOR THE <br />CONSTRUCTION AND REPLANKING OF THE RAILROAD CROSSING ON L.B.J. <br />DRIVE AND AUTHOlUZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE SAME ON <br />BEHALF OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS. <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton moved approval of the Resolution. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, <br />which paased unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Flores and second of Mr. Hansen, the Council recessed to <br />executive session at 9:50 p.m. to dis:cus:s pending litigation. <br />
