<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />6/1 <br /> <br />NOTICE TO BIDDERS <br />NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ISSUE WARRANTS <br /> <br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids, addressed to Frank <br />E. Dietterich, !IIayor, San,Marcos, Texas, ,for. the construction, of <br />ext,ensions and improvements to the waterworks system and the, sewer <br />system of the City of San Marcos, in accordance with the plans and <br />specifications therefor prepared by Frank T. Drought, Consulting <br />Engine,er, San Antonio, Texas, will be received until ..:l <br />o'clock, ';:J". ~1., on the 25th day of August, 1954, at the Office <br />of the Cit'Y"Secretary, City Hall, San Marcos, Texas, and publicly <br />opened and read, after which the bids will be considered by the <br />City Council and award of, contract made as soon thereafter as <br />practicable. <br /> <br />Plans ,and specifications may be examined without charge in <br />the offire of Frank T . Drought, A & E Building, San :Pedro at <br />Woodlawn, San Antonio, Texas (Post Office Box 8147, Laurel Heights <br />Station, San Antonio 12, Texas), and may be procured at said <br />office upon a depoSit of $20.00 as a guarantee as to the safe <br />return of the plans and specifications, the full amount of which <br />will be repaid upon the return of the plans and specifications <br />within five days ,after receipt of bids. <br /> <br />The City of San Marcos reserves the right to reject any and <br />all bids and to waive any or all formalities. <br /> <br />Attention is called to the fact that not less than the <br />minimum wage rate prevailing in the locality in which the work is <br />performed for work of a similar character, and not less than the <br />general prevailing rate of, per diem wages of legal holidays and <br />overtime work, shall be paid to all laborers, workmen and <br />mechanics employed in the construction of public works, and the <br />general prevailing rate in the City of San Marcos may be obtained <br />from Frank T. Drought, Consulting Engineer, San Antonio, Texas. <br /> <br />A certified or cashier I s check on a bank in the State of <br />Texas or a Bidder I s Bond from ,a reliable Surety Company, payable <br />without recourse to Frank E. Dietterich, Mayor, for the amount of <br />not less than five (5%) percent of the largest possible total <br />for the bid submitted including the consideration of additive <br />alternates must accompany each bid as a guarantee that, if awarded <br />the contract, the bidder will promptly enter into a contract and <br />execute such bonds as may be required. <br /> <br />NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that it is the intention of the City <br />Council of the City of San Marcos to pay all or a ,part of the <br />contract price by the issuance and delivery of interest bearing <br />time warrants in an amount :n01t exceeding $35,000.00, to be <br />authorized by the City Council on the 25th day of August, 1954, <br />for the purpose ,of evidencing the indebtedness of the City of <br />San t~arcos ,Texas, to be incurred in constructing extensions and <br />improvements to the waterworks system and the sewer system of said <br />CitYj said warrants to be,ar interest at a rate not to exceed <br />three and one-half (3-1/2%) percent per annum, and having a <br />maximum maturity date not later than twenty-'five (25) years from <br />their date. <br /> <br />The City will make, arrangements for the Contractor to dispose <br />of the warrants herein mentioned at ,not less than par, and the <br />Contractor must agree to deliver the warrants at such price to the <br />parity with whom the City has made such arrangements. <br /> <br />GIVEN PURSUANT to a resolution adopted by the~ity Council <br />oftJl.lil City of San Marcos, Texas, on the ~.z::ri.,. day of <br />/J7",-r ' 195~ <br />-~,~ <br /> <br />j <br />
