22 PROPOSITION :nx0~ o o C-I ~ e:J following proposition: Shall the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, be authorized to issue the bonds of said City in the sum of $100,000.00, payable serially not to exceed thtHy (30) years from their date, bearing interest at a rate not to exceed four(4%l per cent per ann~~, and to levy a tax sufficient to pay the interest on said bon~s, and create a sinking fund sufficient to redeem them at maturity, for the purpose of purchasing and improving lands fOr park purposes for said City, as authOrized by the Constitution and Laws of the state of Texas?" The County will also pay for theprpperty outside the City Limits and the City is to pay for the property within the City Limits. Mr. Barbee stated that above action was entered in the minut~s of the meeting of the County. He also stated that the City is to buy the wire fpr the fence that will be needed, which will cost approxima'tely ~~76.oo. Alderman Smith made a motion that the above be accepted and approved. Alderman Beecroft seconded the motion. A vote was taken wh~ch resulted unanimously in favor of the motion. Mr. C. B. Johnson then requested that the Council take action on I awarding the contract for Cone Mills water and sewer extensions. Alderman Allen made a motion that contradt be awarded to John Meents Construction Co. in the amount of &i30,,?65.75. Alderman Beecroft seconded the motion. A vote was taken'which resulted unanimously in favor of' the motion. Alderman Allen then made a motion that a resolution awarding contract be adopted. Alderman Beecroft seconded the motion. A vote was taken which resulted unanimously in favor of the motion. The resolution follows these minutes.
