Alderman Hill then stated that he thought an ordinance <br />should be drawn up immediately, stating that no Sub-Division would <br />be accepted by the Council when there were dead-end streets when <br />the Sub-Division was located next to a through street. <br /> <br />o <br />C <br />~ <br />C":J <br />f':" <br /> <br />Mr. Patton had inquired as to Whether or not the City-might <br />pay for the light bill for the Pony League and the Little League <br />Baseball Teams. After a discussion, Alderman Beecroft made a motion <br />that the City not pay the light bills for the above teams, as the <br />City is not in a financial position to do so. Alderman Allen <br />seconded the motion. A vote was taken which resulted uhanimously <br />in favor of t he motion~ <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />A proposal by Mr. Victor Bowers on the construction of a <br />communi ty center and bath house a t the Ci ty Park was presented <br />to the Council. It read as follows: <br /> <br />"Mr. Bowers submits the following proposal: <br /> <br />He agrees to furnish all the preliminary plans, drawings and <br />specifications entailed in the planning of the proposed building. <br /> <br />Furnish blue prints, plans and specifications in such detail as to <br />enable contractors to make firm bids on the construction of the building. <br /> <br />Work with the City Council and Parks Board in the selection of the <br />sUl1:essful bidder. <br /> <br />Furnish all outside engineering services regarding foundations, roof <br />spans and such other items as may be required to secure a substantial <br />and first class building. <br /> <br />For such.services, Mr. Bowers will charge the City of San Marcos <br />2;10 of the contract price of the building." <br /> <br />After a discussion on the proposal, Alderman Allen made amotion <br />that th& proposal be accepted. Alderman Beecroft seconded the <br />motion. A vote was taken which resulted unanimously in favor of <br />the motion. The signed proposal follows 'these minutes. <br /> <br />A resolution authorizing the Mayor to publish notice 'of intention <br />of the Council tQ issue not exceeding 1~0,OOO Street'!mprovement <br />Warrants, was pres~nted to the Council for adoption. Alderman <br />Beecroft made a motion that the Resolution be adopted. Alderman <br />Allen seconded the motion. A vote was taken Which resulted unanimously <br />in favor of the motion. The resolution follows these min~t~s and is <br />a part hereof. ~he Mayor then signed the Notice- of Intention to Issue <br />Warrants. A copy of same follows these minutes. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Barbee then stated that the City might be abl~ to trade a <br />portion of land adjacent to the City Park to Pete Peterson in return <br />for another tract of land next to the Park, which would be more suitable <br />for Park use. After a discussion, Alderman De Viney made a motion <br />that Mr. Barbee be instructed to make an even trade on the land if <br />poss~ble. Alderman Allen seconded the motion. A vote was taken which <br />resulted unanimously in favor of the motion. <br /> <br />There being no turther business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned <br />at 11:30 A.
