~ I II I I I I I I I ?-# The Mayor announced that the ORDINANCE had been finally passed. The ORDINANCE is as follows: AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE. OF WARRANTS IN THE PRINCIPAL SUM OF FORTY THOUSAND ($40,000.00) DOLLARS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING CLAIMS TO BE INCURRED BY THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, IN CONSTRUCTING STREET IMPROVEMENTS IN SAID CITY; LEVYING A TAX TO PAY THE INTEREST ON SAID WARRANTS AND THE PRINCIPAL THEREOF AT MATURITY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, has heretofore determined the advisability and necessity of con- structing certain street improvements in said City of San Marcos, Texas; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore determined the adv}sability and necessity of issuing interest bearing time warrants for the purpose of,paYing claims to be incurred in constructing street improvements in said City; and, WHEREAS, in compliance with the provisions of Chapter 163, Acts of the Regular Session of the Forty-second Legislature, 1931, as amended, notice has been given of the intention of the City Council to issue said warrants, which notice was published in a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of San Marcos, for the time and in the manner prescribed by law; and, WHEREAS, the City Council hereby affirmatively finds and declares that no petition of any kind has been filed asking for a referendum election on the question of the issuance of bonds for such purpose; and, WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable and to the best interest of said City to proceed with the issuance of said warrants in accordance with the Constitution and Laws of the state of Texas, and the notice above mentioned; THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS:
