time it flooded seven and one half hours. Every ti['18 this happens, 151
I inL'nediatel~! co:ro.plain to tile City, but it is very hard for me to get this
overflowing st;oppecl promptly, because or the difficulty of getting in
touoh with the proper authority at all hours ,of night. The result has
been that I loose sleep, and I have beoome extremely nervous and dis-
turbed about this condition and. also the finanoial loss whioh I can not
afford.

Due to this situation I decided to place my house on the market, with
the idee. of trying to buy a home in a new location. I put up on my
lawn a liFoI' sale" sign, but tl'le sevoral people who have seen me wi th
a view of buying the property have brousht up the question Of the ,:ver-
flowi,ng of th8 city water tank, which they don't like either, and J., find
that the prospects of sale are lessened and the value of my property
greatly decreased.

I

I have consulted a lawyer more than once, and have of course had to pay
hi,m for his advice. I do nOt like to enter a suit against the City,
but I do, think I have suffered a gr0at deal of damage to my property
as well as to my health.

I would like to know at once whetl'ler it will be necessary for me to
employ an attorney to plaoe my claim before the City, or if a settleYllGnt
might be arranged, without a suit that would be to the advantage of the
city as well as to myself.

the overflow of watel' and the down spout is to be moved from the present
location to the other siue of the tank. A new type of switch and control
are ~oeing installed which have been proved to be satisfactory by use
at the Academy and by the City. No further action was taken.
