<br />She stated that she her neirhbors vvere of the oninlcn that this will
<br />cause confusion in the future. '-'She asked j_f there ~vas a possibility of
<br />chansing the n[h'1le of t.he sub-division. The Council stated that they
<br />di.d not thinl, they had the authoY'ity to chfh'lge or request the change of
<br />the name of a sub-division after it has been ap~roved, especially as this
<br />particular eu.o-division is outsic5.o the ci ty limi ts. It was sug;~ested
<br />to Mrs. ;'\hite, that she and her heir;hbors talk to "'r. James Tuttle, the
<br />sub-divider, to eee whether or not somethin7 could be arranged. No
<br />action wa. taken.

<br />Vlallace Darner, Attorney, met with the Council representing iAr. C. R.
<br />Craber. lilr. Barbee stated that i'hr. Craber intends to sub-divide some of
<br />his property, which is located outside Hays County, but is withi.n the
<br />five-mile district whlchthe Council has juroisdiction over in connection
<br />with sub-divisions. Mr. Barber asked if the Council would approve a 30
<br />or La foot street in .;lr. Craber's sub-divis:Lon. He stated that this
<br />street will also be a dead-end. The Council stated that it was not in
<br />favor of '1lakin;,' exceptions for anvone. lilr. Barber also asked if it
<br />would be necessary for Mr. Craber~to submit a plat for aooroval. Mayor
<br />Jietterich stated that in accordance wi th the ordinance on sub-divisions,
<br />Mr. Craber sl'ould submi t a plat showing all det ails including a 50 ft.
<br />street. No further action was taken.

<br />entire ordinance, Alderman .J3ecroft made a motion that the soliciting
<br />ordinance be adopted. Alderman Hill seconded the motion. A vote was
<br />taken which resulted unanimously in favor of the !nO tion. Tile ordinance
<br />fol'.ows these Cllirmtos and is a part hereof.

<br />Willie Posey, Water :'uDerintendent made a report on the wcr:r that has
<br />been done on the water tank to prevent the overflow of water on to
<br />Mrs. Lockhart's property. He reported that the spuut had been moved to
<br />the opposite side of the tank and the men have been working on the controls
<br />
<br />The Council then discussed and reviewed 0. list of pronosed salary
<br />increases submitted by Mr. Yl. G. Barbee, Executive Secretary. After a
<br />discussion, Alderman Be;lcroft made a mot ion t.~at the followinp salary
<br />increases be approved, retro-active to July 1, 1955. Alderman De Viney
<br />seconded the motion. A vote was taken wh~ch 2esulted unanL'1ously in
<br />favor of the motion. The list of salary increases follows on the next
<br />page.
