<br />The Budget Hearing was then taken up by the Council. W. G. Barbee CIO),
<br />reviewed the budget with the. Council and answered questions that were
<br />asked. After reviewing the budget, Alderman Smith made a motion that the
<br />budget for 1955 -56, which follows these minutes and is a part hereof,
<br />be accepted and approved by the Council. Alderman De Viney seconded the
<br />motion. A vote was taken which resulted unanimously in favor of the
<br />motion.
<br />An ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF WARRANTS IN THE PRINCIPAL
<br />SUM OF EIGHTI' -FIVE THOUSAND ($85,000.00) DOLLARS FOR THE PURPOSE OF
<br />EVIDENCING THE INDEBTEDNESS OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS TO BE INCURRED
<br />IN CONSTRUCTING FIRE STATIONS AND PURCHASING SITES THEREFOR IN SAID CITY,
<br />INCLUDING ARCHITECTS FEE IN CONNECTION THEREWITH, AND PURCHASING FIRE
<br />EQUIPMENT FOR SAID CITY; LEVYING A TAX TO PAY THE INTEREST ON SAID '
<br />WARRANTS AND THE PRINCIPAL THEREOF AT MATURITY; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
<br />HERETOFORE PASSED AND IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY,
<br />was presented to the Council for adoption.

<br />Alderman Smith made a motion that the ordinance be adopted. Alderman
<br />Hill seconded the motion. A vote was taken which resulted unanimously in
<br />favor of the motion. The ordinance follows these minutes and is-a part
<br />hereof.
<br />The following bids on appraisal work on property within the City Limits of
<br />San Marcos and within the San Marcos Independent School District were reviewed.

<br />After a discussion, Alderman Smith made a motion that the contract be
<br />awarded to the Stoner Appraisal Co., as low bidder, subject to the action
<br />of the School Board. Alderman Beecroft seconded the motion. A vote was
<br />taken which resulted unanimously in favor of the motion.
<br />Walter Feltner presented a plat of Sunset Acres Addition, Unit No. Two
<br />(2), Part of the J. M. Veramendi Survey No. One (1) in Hays County, Texas,
<br />to the Council for approval. He stated that he had installed part of the
<br />utilities and promised to put the rest of them in at an early date.
<br />After a review of the plat, Alderman Beecroft made a motion that the follow-
<br />ing ordinance approving the plat be adopted. Alderman Smith seconded the
<br />motion. Avote was taken which resulted unanimously in favor of the motion.

<br />OF SUNSET ACRES ADDITION, UNIT NUMBER TWO (2), PART OF
<br />THE J. 14. VERAMENDI SURVEY NUMBER ONE (1) IN HAYS COUNTY,
<br />TEXAS
<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS:
<br />That the map or plat of Sunset Acres Addition, Unit Number Two (2), in
<br />Hays County, Texas, a part of and out of the J. M. Veramendi Survey
<br />No. One (1), containing the certificate of Henry.A. Glenewinkel,Licensed ,
<br />State Land Surveyor, said certificate being under date of August 8,1955,
<br />being in all things in compliance with the laws of the State of Texas
<br />and the Ordinances and Regulations of the City of San Marcos, be and
<br />the same is hereby, in all things approved, authorized, and acdepted,
<br />and the same is ordered, entered and recorded in the minutes of the
<br />meetings of this Governing Body.
