The Council reviewed several bLds on the architectural work on the 2 e <br />stations. All bids were for b After a discussion, Alderman Smith <br />made a motion that Frank T. Drought's proposal be accepted. <br />Alderman Beecroft seconded the motion. A vote was taken which <br />resulted unanimously in favor of the motion. <br />Mr. Barbee stated that a letter has been received from <br />B. R. Gulledge, stating that the St. Marks Episcopal Church is <br />considering the payment of all taxes due on the property held by Miss Lucy <br />Atkinson, being described as Lot 4 and part of 5, Block 18 to the City <br />of San Marcos, Texas, and that should the Vestry deem it advisable to pay <br />the taxes that are now due, provision will be made for paying future <br />taxes as they become due. Mr. Gulledge requested that the City Commission <br />advise whether or not it will be willing to waive such penalties that <br />have accrued in connection with this property. It was the decision <br />of the Council that the penalties on the property could not be waived. <br />' After a short discussion, Alderman De Viney made a motion that, as <br />of this date, the Mayor be required to sign only proclamations of a <br />patriotic, charitable or welfare nature. Alderman Smith seconded the <br />motion. A vote was taken vdiich resulted unanimously in favor of the motion <br />Mr. Barbee made a report on action that he has taken in acquiring <br />the Highway 81 right -of -way. <br />There being no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned <br />at 4:00 P.M. <br />The foregoing and above is a true and correct record of all <br />matters discussed at the regular meeting on ptember 7th, 1955. <br />Frank E.
