passed. <br />The ORDINANCE is as follows: <br />IAN ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF WARRANTS IN THE PRINCIPAL SUM <br />OF EIGHTY -FIVE THOUSAND ($85,000.00) DOLLARS FOR THE PUR- <br />POSE OF EVIDENCING THE INDEBTEDNESS OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS TO BE INCURRED IN CONSTRUCTING FIRE STATIONS AND <br />PURCHASING SITES THEREFOR IN SAID CITY, INCLUDING ARCHITECTS <br />FEE IN CONNECTION THEREWITH, AND PURCHASING FIRE EQUIPMENT <br />FOR SAID CITY; LEVYING A TAX TO PAY THE INTEREST ON SAID <br />WARRANTS AND THE PRINCIPAL THEREOF AT MATURITY; REPEALING <br />ALL ORDINANCES HERETOFORE PASSED AND IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS; the City Council of the City of San.Marcos, Texas, <br />has heretofore determined the advisability and necessity of con- <br />structing fire stations in said City and purchasing fire equip- <br />ment for the City; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore determined the <br />advisability and necessity of issuing interest bearing time <br />warrants for the purpose of evidencing the indebtedness of the <br />City of San Marcos to be incurred in constructing such fire <br />stations and purchasing sites therefor in said City, including <br />architect's fee in connection therewith, and purchasing fire <br />equipment for the City; and,. <br />WHEREAS, in compliance with the provisions of Chapter 163, <br />Acts of the Regular Session of the Forty - second Legislature, <br />1931, as amended, notice has been given of the intention of the <br />City Council to issue said warrants, which notice was published <br />in a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of <br />San Marcos for the time and in the manner prescribed by law; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council hereby affirmatively finds and <br />declares that no petition of any kind has been filed asking for <br />a referendum election on the question of the issuance of bonds <br />for such purpose; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable and to the best <br />interest of said City to proceed with the issuance of said <br />warrants in accordance with the Constitution and Laws of the <br />State of Texas, and the notice above mentioned; <br />
