the owner or holder; and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized, <br />ordered and directed to pay to bearer, at said bank, the said sum <br />of One Thousand ($1,000,00) Dollars, on the 15th day of August, <br />19 , the date of maturity of this warrant in full settlement of <br />the indebtedness hereby evidenced, from the special "Fire Station <br />and Equipment Warrants Fund," of said City, levied, assessed and <br />created for that purpose. <br />This warrant is one of a series of 85 warrants, numbered <br />consecutively from 1 to 85, inclusive, in the denomination of <br />One Thousand ($1,000.00) Dollars each, aggregating Eight -five <br />Thousand ($85,000.00) Dollars, issued for the purpose of eviden- <br />cing the indebtedness of the City of San Marcos, Texas, incurred <br />in constructing fire stations and purchasing sites therefor in <br />said City, including architect's fee in connection therewith, <br />and purchasing fire equipment for the City, under and by virtue <br />of the Constitution and Laws of the State of Texas, and in pur- <br />suance of an ordinance passed by the City Council of the City of <br />San Marcos, which ordinance is recorded in the Minutes of said <br />City Council. <br />The date of this warrant, in conformity with said ordinance, <br />is August 15, 1955. <br />AND IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED AND RECITED that all acts, con- <br />ditions and things required to be done precedent to and in the <br />issuance of this warrant, have been properly done, have happened <br />and been performed in regular and due time, form and manner, as <br />provided by law, and that the total indebtedness of said City, <br />including this warrant, does not exceed any constitutional or <br />statutory limitation. <br />IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, the City of San Marcos, Texas, has <br />caused the corporate seal of said City to be affixed hereto, <br />and this warrant to be signed by its Mayor, countersigned by its <br />
