Dietterich, Mayor, San Marcos, Texas, for the construc- <br />tion of two fire stations, in accordance with the plans and <br />specifications therefor prepared by Frank T. Drought, San Antonio, <br />Texas, will be received until 2 o'clock, p.m., on the 21st day <br />of December, 19~5, at the office of the City Secretary, City <br />Hall, San Marcos, Texas, and publicly opened and read, after <br />which the bids will be considered by the Ci ty Council and <br />award of contract made as soon thereafter as practicable. <br /> <br />Plans and specifications may be procured at the office <br />of the Ci ty Secretary, Ci ty Hall, San Marcos, Texas, or at <br />the office of Frank T. Drought, A & E Building, San Pedro at <br />~roodlawn, San Antonio, Texas, upon a deposit of $10.00 as a <br />guarantee as to the safe return of the plans and specifications, <br />the full amount of which will be repaid upon the return <br />of the plans and specifications within five days after receipt <br />of bids. <br /> <br />The City of San Marcos reserves the right to reject any <br />and all bids" and to waive any or all formalities. <br /> <br />Attention is called to the fact that not less than the <br />minimum wage rate prevailing in the locality in which the work <br />is performed for work of a similar character, and not less than <br />the general prevailing rate of per diem wages of legal holidays <br />and overtime work, shall be paid to all laborers, workmen and <br />mechanics employed in the construction of public works, and <br />the general prevailing rate in the City of San Marcos may be <br />obtained from Frank T. Drought, Consulting Engineer, San Antonio, <br />Texas. <br /> <br />A certified or cashier's check on a bank in the State of <br />Texas or a Bidder's Bond from a reliable Surety Company, payable <br />without recourse to Frank E. Dietterich, Mayor, for the amount <br />of not less than five (5%) per cent of the largest possible <br />total for the bid submitted including the consideration of <br />additive alternates must accompany each bid as a guarantee <br />that, if awarded the contract, the bidder will promptly <br />enter into a contract and execute such bonds as may be <br />required. <br /> <br />NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that it is the intention of the City <br />Council of the City of San Marcos to pay all or a part of the <br />contract price by the issuance and delivery of interest bearing <br />time warrants out of an is sue of CITY OF SAN MARCOS B'IHE STATION <br />AND EQUIP1!8NT WARRAN~S dated August 15, 19S5, bearing three <br />and one-half (3-1/2%) per cent interest per annum, and having <br />a maximum maturity date of August 15, 1977, heretofore authorized <br />by the City Council in the total amount of $85,000.00 by <br />ordinance passed on September 7, 1955, for the purpose of <br />evidencing the indebtedness of the City of San Marcos to be <br />incurred in constructing fire stations and purchasing sites <br />therefor in said City, including architect's fee in co~nection <br />therewith, and purchasing fire equipment for said City. <br /> <br />The City will make arrangements for the Contractor to <br />dispose of the warrants herein mentioned at not less than par, <br />and the Contractor must agree to deliver the warrants at suCh <br />price to the party with whom the City has made such arrangements. <br /> <br />GIVEN PURSUANT to a resolution adopted by <br />the City of San Marcos, Texas, on the 23rd y <br /> <br /> <br />, TEXAS. <br />
