<br />" <br /> <br />/ c:<o-/? <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, CLOSING THAT PORTION OF HIGH <br />STREET EXTENDING FROM ACADEMY STREET IN A NORTH- <br />EASTERLY DIRECTION A DISTANCE OF 160 FEET, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City <br />Council of the City of San Marcos that a portion of what is <br /> <br />known and designated as High Street in said City, has for many <br /> <br />years been considered unnecessary for the use of the citizens <br /> <br />living in the immediate area of said street and has remained <br /> <br />unimproved and is considered by the City Council a traffic hazard <br /> <br />and a danger to persons endeavoring to use the said street and <br /> <br />other streets adjacent thereto. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council that it <br /> <br /> <br />would be for the best interests and for the protection of the <br /> <br />citizens of San Marcos and persons living in the immediate vicinity <br /> <br />of the said High Street and using the said High Street and the <br /> <br />,I <br /> <br />streets adjacent thereto if the hereinafter described portion of <br /> <br />High Street is closed, vacated and abandoned as a city street. <br /> <br />vffiEREAS, the persons whose property is situated in the <br /> <br />same block and abut upon High Street, have indicated their desire <br /> <br />and have requested that such portion of High Street be adandomed, <br />closed and vacated as a city street. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City of San Marcos: <br /> <br />That the following portion of what is designated as High <br /> <br /> <br />Street in the said City of San Marcos be closed, abandoned and <br /> <br />vacated as a city street and passageway, such portion of said High <br /> <br />Street being all that certain real property lying and being situat- <br />ed in the County of Hays and State of Texas, which property is <br /> <br />more particularl;<,r described by metes and bounds as follows: <br /> <br />II <br />I <br /> <br />BEGINNING at the western most corner of Lot No. Five (5) <br />and the northern most corner of Lot No. One (1), in Block No. One <br />(1) of the G, A. MacNaughton First Addition to the City of San <br /> <br />Marcos, according to the map or plat of said addition of record <br /> <br />in Volume 55 at page 393 of the Deed Records of Hays County, Texas; <br /> <br />~-~ <br />
