10 <br /> <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />April 13, 1981 <br /> <br />Page 6 <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration an Ordinance on first reading, <br />the caption of which was read as follows, but which was read in entirety: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE.!CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ~ENDING SECTION 3 OF <br />THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS <br />THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES <br />AND LAND, DATED SEPTEMBER 29,1980 (VOL. 54) <br />BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOT 4, IN iBLOCK 4 <br />OF THE DAN MCKIE 2 ADDITION, LOCATED AT 402 <br />MCKIE ST., FROM "R-i" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDEN- <br />TIAL) TO "C" (CO~ERCIAL). <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes then opened the public hearing. No one wished to speak <br />for or against the zoning change. The Mayor Pro-Tem then closed <br />the public hearing. Mr. Cavazos moved that the Ordinance be tabled <br />until the April 27, 1981 Council Meeting and Mr. Brown seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration an Ordinance on first reading, <br />which was read in its entirety, the caption of which was read as fol- <br />lows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ~MENDING SECTION 3 OF <br />THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS <br />THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES <br />AND LAND, DATED SEPTEMBER 29, 1980 (VOL. 54) <br />BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOTS 12, 13, 14 AND <br />15 OF THE Z. WILLIAMSON 2ND ADDITION, LOCATED <br />ON MARLTON STREET, FROM "R~i" (SINGLE FAMILY <br />RESIDENTIAL) TO "R-2" (DUPLEX DWELLING DISTRICT). <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes recited a letter from Clarence Miller desiring to postpone <br />his zoning request. The Mayor Pro-Tem then opened the public hearing. <br />No one spoke in favor of or opposed the zoning request; therefore, the <br />Mayor~Pro-Tem closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />Mrs. Norris moved that the Ordinance be tabled until it appeared before <br />P and Z and Mr. Brown seconded the motion. Mrs. Norris also moved that <br />it be republished. The motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration an Ordinance on first reading, <br />which was read in its entirety, the caption of which was read as fol- <br />lows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF <br />THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS <br />THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES <br />AND LAND, DATED SEPTEMBER 29, 1980 (VOL. 54) <br />BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF PART OF LOT 9, 10 <br />AND 11 IN BLOCK 4, AND LOT 1 IN BLOCK 5 OF <br />THE H. E. BARBER ADDITION, FROM "P" (PUBLIC <br />USE) TO "TH" (TO~HOUSE). <br /> <br />The Mayor Pro-Tem then opened the public hearing. Mr. Jake Krauskopf <br />briefly reviewed what has happened with this request. They appeared <br />before Planning and Zoning Commission to request the change from <br />public to single family. They did encounter some of the property <br />owners of the request. When they appeared before the Council Mr. <br />Stokes asked that the applicant meet with the property owners, which <br />they did, and the matter was tabled for a month. The majority of the <br />owners supported a request to Townhouse as opposed to Single Family. <br />That has been done and advertized again and is before the Council this <br />evening. The applicant does need five out of six votes this evening <br />in order to do something with the property. In answer to Mrs. Norris' <br />question of replatting the property, Mr. Krauskopf advised the Council <br /> <br /> <br />
