<br />jJf <br /> <br />,. <br /> <br />NOES: None. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor announced that the ordinance had been finally <br />passed. <br /> <br />The ordinance is as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE <br /> <br />BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AUDITING AND ALLOWING CLAIM FOR INDEBTEDNESS INCURRED <br />IN PURCHASING FIRE EQUIPMENT FOR THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, AUTHORIZING THE DELIVERY OF CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br />FIRE STATION AND EQUIPMENT WARRANTS TO EVIDENCE SAID <br />INDEBTEDNESS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, heretofore on September 7, 1955, the City Council <br /> <br />of the City of San Marcos, Texas, passed an ordinance authorizing <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />the issuance of CITY OF SAN MARCOS FIRE STATION AND EQUIPMENT <br />WARRANTS dated August 15, 1955, Numbered 1 to 85, inclusive, in <br />the denomination of $1,000 each, aggregating $85,000.00, bearing <br />3~% interest per annum, and maturing on August 15th, $10,000 in <br />1974 and $25,000 in each of the years 1975 to 1977, inclusive, for <br />the purpose of evidencing the indebtedness of the City of San <br /> <br />Marcos to be incurred in constructing fire stations and purchasing <br />sites therefor in said City, including architect's fee in connec- <br />tion therewith, and purchasing fire equipment for the City; which <br />ordinance is of record in Book 19, page 66, et seq., Minutes of <br />said City Council; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following claim, duly verified, has been pre- <br />sented to the City Council of said City: <br /> <br />DATE <br /> <br />PAYEE <br /> <br />PURPOSE <br /> <br />10-10-56 SIMMS FIRE EQUIPMENT <br />CO., SAN ANTONIO,TEX. <br /> <br />2-500 GPM Combination <br />Pumper & Booster <br />Trucks as per contract <br />of May 2, 1956..........$22,203.06 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, the City Council has duly ascertained and <br />determined that said claim was incurred in the purchase of fire <br />equipment for the City of San Marcos as contemplated and author- <br />ized by the aforesaid ordinance of September 7, 1955; and, <br />
