INVITATION TO BID SEALED PROPOSALS, endorsed "Excavating and Grading Machine" will be received by the City of San Marcos, Office of the City Manager, City Hall, San Marcos, Texas, until 2 o'clock P. M., CST, Thursday March 6, 1958, at which time and place all bids will be publically opened and read aloud. Bids requested are for furnishing truck mounted multiple purpose excavating and grading, in accordance with the specifications. Specifications and bidding data may be obtained from the City of San Marcos, city Hall, San Marcos, Texas The right is reserved, as the interest of the City of San Marcos may require, to re- f ject any or all bids and to waive informalities in bidding. S PECIFICAT IONS * * One (1) only latest model Truck Mounted Multiple Purpose Excavating and Grading Machine, complete with buckets, as listed, ready to operate and meeting the follow- ing specifications: I Excavating and grading mechanism shall consist of a retractable, telescoping type boom that is capable of extending from a retracted length of 12 ft. to an extended length of 24 ft. from its pivot point. Capable of interchanging excavating or grading buckets to outer end of boom. Boom shall be capable of being raised to an ap- proximate angle of 22 degrees above horizontal and lowered to an angle of approximately 45 degrees below horizontal; complete boom and attachment shall be capable of rotating, or tilt, in each di- rection from horizontal through an angle of approximately 45 degrees. Bucket shall be capable of being rotated through an arc in the plane of the boom of approximately 115 degrees, and capable of holding in any position necessary to conform to grade being cut. Complete grading and excavating mechanism to be mounted on a rotating plat- form which rotates on a turntable assembly and capable of rotating through 360 degrees. Platform, boom and bucket shall be hydrauli- cally activated and cab controlled from cab mounted on rotating plat- form. Unit shall have a maximum dumping height with boom retracted of not less than 10 ft. and with boom extending of not less than 14 ft. 6 in. Machine shall be equlpped with the following inter- changeable bucket. One (1) 60" Ditch Cleaning Bucket One (l) 36" Bucket with H & L Teeth One (1) 21" Bucket with H & L Teeth, & One (1) Single Tooth Ripper
