The City "ttorney received a letter from the Board of Directors of the Wesley Foundation requesting that their property be removed from the tax rolls, stating in accordance with Article VIII, Section 2, Texas Constitu- tion, Article 7150 and 7150b Vernon's Civil Statutes exempt them from taxation. The City Attorney has forwarded a copy of the request to Mr. Terry Jacks and Mr. Joe Hutchison. It is hoped that Mr. Jacks can get a ruling from the Attorney-General on this question. o o ::.... C":J o 3. A Regional Meeting of the League of Texas Municipalities has been scheduled for San Antonio - 9:30 A. M. June 20, 1958, at the South Terrace Room of the Gunter Hotel. It was requested that some of the Council attend this meeting. I 4. A check was received from the City of San Marcos Housing Authority in the amount of $1,163.17, representing payment in lieu of taxes on the real property belonging to the redevelopment project, and these funds will be distributed in the following manner: City Count y School District $581.58 116.32 465.27 This represents a percentage sharing of the payment with the other taxing units. It's interest ing to note that for the tax year 1951, the last year the property was on tax rolls, the gross tax levied by all taxing units was approximately $135.00. This would indicate that the members of the Housing Authority have done a most credit- able job in managing the project for the City.
