Tn most cases, military training
taken involving active duty training, not in excess of two (2) weeks plus travel
time, is allowed without penalty to the employee, either from pay status and leave
status. After some discussion of the matter, it was the unanimous feeling of the
Council to follow the general law regarding type of training.

I

Two (2) charts were presented to the Council to aid them in determining
proper pi.pe size for the force main from the lift station to the disposal plant.
The City Manager noted the essence of time and recommended that the City proceed
with taking bids on the pipe for the force main. The City Manager
recommended that, if the Council was receptive to the idea of this annexation,
permission be granted to work with Mr. Stokes to bring about an equitable
arrangement of utLlity extensi.on and payment to the end that the area could be
annexed into the City on or about December 31, 1958. Mayor Allen stated that
he felt that it was advantageous to the City for the Council to approve the
request for annexation of the Oak Heights Subdivision. The Council unanimously
concurred to work out this annexatlon in compliance with the annexation ordinance,
and on the same basis of the Spring Lake Hills annexation.

Tabulation of bids on Tax Accounting and Utility Billing Machine were
presented to the Council as follows:

I

Bidder
National Cash Register
Burroughs Corporation

Model
Model 31-10-14

Price

Delivery
Date

Sens imatic F-301

$6,315.00
5,416.90

9/12/58
10/1/58*

*A machine can be placed in the Tax Office on loan for the
City's use not later than July 10th. This machine will be
available for use until the other equipment is delivered,
if the Council awards the bid.

Motion was made by Alderman Beecroft, seconded by Alderman Korff, to purchase the
new Tax Accounting and Utility Billing Machine from the Burroughs Corporation for
the price of $5,416.90, and received the following vote:

Ayes:

Aldermen Beecroft
Davi s
Hlllburn
Kor ff
Steakley

Nayes: None
Whereupon the Mayor pronounced the bid awarded to the Burroughs Corporation.

The City Manager informed the Council that the last of the meter parts
have been delivered to install the parking meters on W. San Antonio Street,
across the street from 01' Bossy, and unless otherwise directed, these meters
would be installed with large posts and no curbcng would be installed, which
received the unanimous approval of the Council.

I

The Council concurred that it was time to trade in the 1954 model black
2-door Ford sedan and directed the City Manager to proceed with advertising for
bids.

The following terns were submitted to the Council for their information:

1.
