Tax ledger <br />and statement prepared with original print with original tax journal as <br />a by-product of the operation of producing the tax statement. Mechine <br />shall be capable of automatically computing the tax to the nearest one- <br />half cent, automatically printing total tax and total valuations. The <br />receipt number shall be printed automatically by the machine, advancing <br />one digit for each statement billed. Capable of an operation to pre- <br />vent transferring incorrect figures to register if incorrect valuations <br />are copied into machine. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Tax Ledger Postinq <br /> <br />Carriage to open and close automatically with ledger sheet <br />pOSitioned so that current and previous postings are clearly visible. <br />The machine shall be capable of posting penalties and cash payments in <br />a single and/or separate run. Cash total, penalty total and net bal- <br />ance shall be printed automatically with cipher proof of old balance <br />pick-up at the end of the posting run. <br /> <br />B. UTILITY ACCOUNTING, <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Utili ty Billinq <br /> <br />Machine shall be designed to handle customer billing, utilizing <br />a ledger sheet and postcard bill with cashier's stub attached. The ledger, <br />journal and cashier's stub prepared automatically as a by-product of led- <br />ger posting. Machine to accomplish single or multiple metered-service <br />billing with a breakdown of consumption and money by class of service. In <br />addition to metered services, machine must permit billing additional charges, <br />such as sewer, garbage, penalty and/or arrears. Machine to automatically <br />compute and print consumption with an operation to prevent transferring in- <br />correct figures to register if meter readings have been incorrectly copied <br />from meter book. The billing date shall be automatically printed. Full <br />visibility of current line and previous lines of each bill. Selection of <br />type of metered service and/or services to be made from keyboard register <br />selection key which also describes type of service on the bill, cashier's <br />stub and ledger, all in original print, with only one key depression.. <br />Carriage to open and close automatically. Machine shall be capable of the <br />automatic totaling of all registers at the end of the billing run and the <br />printing of the following totals automatically; consumption (by class, as, <br />residential, commercial and/or governmental), total consumption. sewer <br />charges, garbage charges. penalties, arrears, and total billed. Totals on <br />multiple service bills printed automatically on postcard bill, cashier's <br />stub and ledger sheet with one depression of total key. <br />
