I J - Machine carriage shall be so arranged as to utilize the tax ledger sheets presently in use by the City of San Marcos. Mechine shall be capable of automatically computing the tax to the nearest one- half cent, automatically printing total tax and total valuations. The receipt number shall be printed automatically by the machine, advancing one digit for each statement billed. Capable of an operation to pre- vent transferring incorrect figures to register if incorrect valuations are copied into machine. 2. Tax Ledger Postinq Carriage to open and close automatically with ledger sheet pOSitioned so that current and previous postings are clearly visible. The machine shall be capable of posting penalties and cash payments in a single and/or separate run. Cash total, penalty total and net bal- ance shall be printed automatically with cipher proof of old balance pick-up at the end of the posting run. B. UTILITY ACCOUNTING, 1. Machine to accomplish single or multiple metered-service billing with a breakdown of consumption and money by class of service. In addition to metered services, machine must permit billing additional charges, such as sewer, garbage, penalty and/or arrears. Machine to automatically compute and print consumption with an operation to prevent transferring in- correct figures to register if meter readings have been incorrectly copied from meter book. The billing date shall be automatically printed. Full visibility of current line and previous lines of each bill. Selection of type of metered service and/or services to be made from keyboard register selection key which also describes type of service on the bill, cashier's stub and ledger, all in original print, with only one key depression..
