<br />t8D: <br />099 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />!. <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Maroo s and the County of Hays have been unable <br />to agree on a mutually acceptable annual charge for providing fire-fighting <br />services outside the city limits of the City of San Marcos, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the county of Hays has indicated its intention <br />to purchase fire-fighting equipment and to establish a County Fire District, <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at the present time the County of Hays has not, in fact, acquired <br />such fire-fighting equipment and the hot, dry summer weather daily increases <br />the potential danger of fires in that area of Hays County not now provided <br />with adequate fire protection, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of San Marcos fully realizes that there <br />exists a pressing need for trained personnel utilizing adequate fire <br />equipment to protect life and property outside the city limits of the <br />City of San Marcos, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of San Marcos has been, and still is, most <br />interested in cooperating to the fullest extent with the officials of Hays <br />County to assist these officials in their delegated responsibility of <br />providing fire protection to the citizens of Hays County. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />New, THEREFORE, BE II RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BCDY OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS that the services of the City's trained firemen and modern <br />equipment, are hereby offered to the citizens of Hays County for fighting <br />any fire within the territorial limits of Hays County upon any occasion <br />when, and if, specifically requested so to do by the County Judge or the <br />Commissioner of any Precinct of Hays County. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby directed to notify <br />the Fire Chief and the San Marcos Fire Department to respond, with such <br />equipment as is available, to alarms outside the limits of San Marcos and <br />within the territorial limits of Hays County, when these services are <br />specifically requested by the County Judge or the Commissioner of any <br />Precinct and, further, that this offer of service is to continue until <br />December 31, 1958 unless sooner terminated. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED this 15th day of JUly, A.
