An invoice from the John J. Stokes Construction Company in the amount
of $14,644.00 coveri.ng construction completed and materials on hand at the sewage
disposal plant. This estimate had been approved by the engineers.

b. An invoice from Hugh C. Dickson for engineering fees on the alterations I
to the lift station in the amount of $1,168.79. The City Manager reported that
under this contract the item was due and payable, however, the City will be
entitled to an adjustment cased on the actual construction costs when the full
constructionie completed.

Upon motion made by Alderman Tuttle, seconded by Alderman Hi11burn, the City
Manager was authorized to pay the invoices as presented. The motion was passed
by a unanimous vote of the Council.

City Manager Fuller reported that, in recent negotiaticns with Sallie P.
Bengston, she had agreed to the price of $800.00 per acre far the approximately
1.4 aCres required by the City as a right of way to extend Linda Drive across
Mrs. Bengston's property. This price had been agreed upon by the Council in their
February 17, 1959, meeting. Alderman Hillburn made a motion, seconded by Alderman
Beecroft, that the City complete the negotiations with Mrs. Bengston for this pro-
perty at the stated price of $800.00 per aCre. The motion was passed by a unanimous
vote of the Council.

City Manager Fuller reported to the Council that a sizable savings might be
effected by the City by carrying all their vadous insurance policies in several
fleet 1'o11c:.es to be held by the San Marcos insurance association. A survey of
the present inSurance of the City would be made by the association in order to
draw up these fleet policies, and the premiums would ,be divided equitably among
the members of the association. The Council concurred with this suggested I
inSUrance program.

It was brought to the Council's attention that there was a need for "a
clarification of the Ere Zone Regulation Ordinance establishing the #1 Fire
Zone on June 7, 1893. The ordinance established the "II Fire Zone as "all of
Block No. 13 from the Square to the Rallroad right of way." It was believed
that the intent of those Wording this did not take into consideration the possi-
bility of future building on the railroad right of way and that the zone was
intended to extend to the track rather than some 100 feet from the track. It
was recommended that this be clarified to include in the #1 Fire Zone any building
on the north side of the MiSSouri Pacific Railroad tracks. Alderman Beecroft
made a motion, seconded by Alderman Davis that this ordinance be clarified as
stated. The motion was passed by a unanimous vote of the Council.

City Manager Fuller reported to the Council that John J. Stokes Construction
Company has estimated that they can construct two additional sludge drying beds
at the disposal plant for $972.00. Since these beds have to be constructed the
Council agreed that an addendum to the contract with Stokes be made for this
construction.

There being no further business, on motion made and seconded, the Council
adjourned.

7 '/~) ('
11/'/ '1/" ,0<.;z

w.
