The Council members 2greed that the ordinance seemed to be in <br />p:roper order, however, they wished to defer action on it until an opinion is <br />received from the City Attorney. <br /> <br />It Was noted that the franchise to operate a motor bus in San Marcos which <br />Mr. H. B. Cochran has v1iith the City is due to terminate on September 15, 1959. <br />The Council agreed that City Manager Fuller be authorized to handle the renewal <br />of this franchise. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The following tax refunds were presented for the Council's consideration: <br /> <br />a. Pedro V. Afancior, Victory Garden 1st, Lots 11 & 12 of Blk. 5, Double <br />payment of $2.09. <br /> <br />b. John Hughson, personal property on autc, 1955-1958. Not a resident <br />of Chy. Payment of $74.52. <br /> <br />After some discussion the Council agreed that the refunds be made as presented. <br /> <br />-n1e following items I'Jere presented for the Counoil's information: <br /> <br />a. Mr. Elmer Satterwhite has agreed to give the City a util.ity easement <br />across hls property from North Guadalupe Street to Fredericksburg Street. <br /> <br />b. Mayor Allen received a letter from Wm. J. Graham & Son advising that <br />the lease on the Munioipal Airport will be terminated June 30, 1959. <br /> <br />o. A telegram ~o the San Marcos Record, dated May 28th, from the Con- <br />gressional representatives advises that the Departme~t of Army has approved <br />leasing of a four acre tract from the City in the Memorial Park fw!' construc- <br />tion of an Army R.eserve Training Center. Construction is due to begin in 1960. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />d. The waterline has been oompleted to the Park Place Addition and the <br />deeds for the two tracts of land given to the City by Mr. Sam Lyle as parti21 <br />payment for this line have bee~ sent to the Clerk for reoording. The oost <br />of the extension was $1,157.10. The City will recover $502.79 from ;'Ilr.
