Mrs. Norris moved to approve <br />the minutes and Mr. Brown seconded the motion, which passed unani- <br />mously. <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration approval of the minutes of <br />the Regular Meeting held April 13, 1981. Mrs. Norris moved to ap- <br />prove the minutes and Mr. Brown seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration approval of the minutes of <br />the Special Meeting held April 20, 1981. Mr. Brown moved to approve <br />the minutes and Mrs. Norris seconded the motion, which passed unani- <br />mously. <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration approval of the bid of Denny's <br />Fencing on a six-foot chain link fence to be built on the Crawford <br />Water Tower site. Mr. Cavazos moved to approve the bid and Mrs. Nor- <br />ris seconded the motion, which passed unanimously, based on the recom- <br />mendation of George W. Boeker in Public Works. <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration an award of contract for en- <br />gineering services for Dixon Addition of the San Marcos City Cemetery. <br />Mr. Tarbutton moved to approve the award be made to Charles Swart, as <br />recommended by Dinah Elwell, Staff Administrative Assistant, and Mrs. <br />Norris seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration policy regarding the Dixon <br />Addition of the San Marcos City Cemetery. The three recommendations <br />asked to be approved by Staff Administrative Assistant Dinah Elwell <br />were that only flush to the ground monuments be allowed, curbs be <br />prohibited and that citizens be prohibited from planting their own <br />shrubs, seedlings or other vegetation. Mrs. Norris moved to approve <br />the policy set out by Dinah Elwell and Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration an Ordinance ordering a Runoff <br />Election on May 2, 1981 for Council Member Places 3 and 4, the caption <br />which was read as follows, but which was read in its entirety: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />~RCOS, TEXAS AMENDING THAT ORDINANCE ADOPTED APRIL <br />6, 1981, WHICH ORDERED A RUNOFF ELECTION TO BE HELD <br />IN SAID CITY ON MAY 2, 1981, FOR THE OFFICES OF COUNCIL <br />MEMBER PLACE 3 AND COUNCIL MEMBER PLACE 4 BY DESIGNATING <br />PLACES OF HOLDING SUCH ELECTION AND NAMING THE OFFICERS <br />THEREFORE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />* Mr. James was not present until 8:10 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />
