Hillburn <br /> Herman Korff I <br /> James Tuttle <br />Nayes: None <br /> <br />The City Attorney is to write the property owners informing them of the <br />above decision. <br /> <br />City Manager Fuller said he had received a lC'cter from Mr. Bluestein <br />wi th a proposed construction agreementC enclosed, If the Council accepts <br />the agreement a check for $3,540.00 should be returned with it for the <br />City's portion of the consi:,ruction expenses. The Council discussed the <br />agreemeni: and decided to ac'cept. The Council dir'ected the City Manager <br />to notify Mr. Bluestein th2t they would send acceptance and a check for <br />$3,540.00 with the deed to the Right-M-Way. <br /> <br />Mr. Tom Oliver discussed briefly with i:he Council the matter of the <br />damages to the property of Mrs. Frank Moore. <br /> <br />The City Ai:torney indicated that he would like help on the condem- <br />nai:ion suits and as Mr, Oliver has knowledge of the ill!i 12 matter, Alderman <br />Tuttle moved that Mr. Oliver be employedOby the City to assist the City <br />Attorney, with i:he excepi:ion of Mrs. Frank Moore who is represented by Mr, <br />Oliver. The motion was seconded by Alde:rman Hillburn and was pessed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />The Counci1 noi:ed that a check in the amount of $1,010.50 has been <br />received from the Housing Authority, payment in lieu of taxes. )'..ast year <br />10% was paid to i:he County, 40% to i:he School District and 5Qi~ retained <br />by the City. This year (1959) the County-State taxes have already been <br />paid by the Cii:y. A division between i:he School District and City is <br />required. The City Manager requested the Council i:o set the percentage <br />to be paid to the School Districi:. After some discussion the Council <br />decided to pay i:he School District 40% and retain 60% for the City of the <br />Sum remaining after the County-State taxes are paid. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The City Manager informed the Council that in accordance with their <br />instructions the Missouri Pacific Railroad is being contacted regard1ng <br />the Hopkins Street bridge, As soon as a reply is received, the Council <br />will be advised. City Manager Fuller stated that in this same connection, <br />Mr. Travis Long, Expressway Engineer, Texas Highway Department, has been <br />contacted regarding a discussion and prior planning on the expressway <br />i:hrough San Marcos. Mr. Long advises that he can meet with the Council <br />anytime after December 1st. City Manager Fuller suggested that if the <br />Council wishes to arrange such a meeting they might like to also invite <br />Mr. Bluestein. The Council agreed i:hat a meeting would be advantageous, <br />the date to be set later. <br /> <br />The Council was informed that Mr, Robert T, Littleton, Ground-Water <br />Geologist, has been contacting the CitycManager regarding a water resources <br />study of San Marcos and Hays County to be used in industrial promotion. Mr. <br />Littleton was told that it appeared unlikely that such a study would mater- <br />ially benefit the City at this time, however, Mr. Littleton requested that <br />the Council be advised that he is available if his services are required. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />It was brought to the attention of the Council that there had been a <br />duplication of charges for sewer service by the Utility Department against <br />Wood Bros., North side of the Square. Both Harrison's and Wood Bros. had <br />been charged for sewer charges for Harrison's, Both stores are served by <br />by i:he same meter which caused the duplication of charges.
