'-J,

;3

discussion, Alderman Beecroft moved that a refund of $120.15 be made to
Wood Bros. The motion was seconded by Alderman Korff and carried unan-
imously.

I

The next item of business concerned the purchase in 1944 of 11,095
acres of land by Mr, Val Roberts from the Sallie W. Law Estate. The
transfer was made on the County and School District tax records, however,
it was never made on the City tax roll, resulting in 15 years of City
taxes having been improperly assessed against the ~allie W. Law Estate.
City Manager Fuller stated that he has consulted with the Delinquent
Tax Attorney who suggested that the Council authorize the deletion of
the tax against the Sallie W. Law Estate and a supplemental assessment
be made charging Val Roberts with the taxes, Mayor Allen asked whether
Mr. Roberts would be charged penalty and interest. The City Manager
explained that this would be a supplemental assessment rather than a
transfer of taxes, The Council unanimously agreed to delete the taxes
against 3aUie W, Law Estate and prepare a supplemental assessment
against Val B. Roberts.

The City Manager stated that the Tax Assessor-Collector has dis-
covered a double assessment on part of Farm Lot 12, in the name of
Basilio Loera, 721 Valley Street, 1956 through 1959 - $73.80. After
a brief discussion Alderman Hillburn moved that the double assessment
be deleted. The motion was seconded by Alderman Beecroft. The motion
carried unanimously.

I

Requests were presented for two sewer extension,. (1) From ~herc'
wood Drive up U. $, 35 to Texas Avenue and out Texas Avenue 515 feet.
This Will serve the frontage property on U. S, 35, including Westwood
Corporation and the residents on Texas Avenue. Estimated cost-$4,080.00.
(2) The residents of the Wallace Addition have asked for se\'liage facilities
in that area, No survey has been made, however, a rough estimate is
$8,500.00. After oonsiderable discussion Alderman Tuttle moved that the
U. S, 35 to Texas Avenue Sewer line be extended. Alderman Hillburn
seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous agreement. The Council
stated that due to lack of funds the Wallace Addition sewer line would
be considered at a later date.

The City Manager asked the Council to note that there are five fire
trucks and four pOlice cars that need collision insurance. The City
Manager had investigated the rates and found that the rate for emergency
vehicles would be $426.72. He found that with our experience modifi-
cation total collision coverage - on all City vehicles would be only
$544.60. He suggested it Inight be well to take the total coverage,
The Council unani"~usly accepted the Fleet Policy,

The City Manager requested that the Council approve the installa-
tion of stop signs on East San Antonio Street at its intersection with
Edward Gary Street.

I Ayes: S.
