<br /> <br />REGULAR IAEETING HELD ON MAY 10. 1960 <br /> <br />On the lOth day of May, 1960, at 2:00 o'clock P.M., the Governing <br />Body of the City of San Marcos met in regular session at the City Hall, <br />Mayor C. M. Allen presiding: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Present: Mayor C. M. Allen <br />Alder~en: ~. R. Beecroft <br />W. M. Davis <br />B. D. Hillburn <br />. Herman Korff <br />City Manager B. R. Fuller <br />City Secretary Judy Brackett <br />Mrs. Roland Manske - AAUW <br />Guests: L. J. Eastwood <br />Mrs. Marion B. Combs <br />Mrs. V. R. Cook <br />~rs. W~nroe Higgs <br />Mr. Jack Williams <br />Mr. Paul J. Rogers <br />Mr. Henry C. Kyle <br />Absent: Alderman: James Tuttle <br /> <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were approved. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The regular order of business was dispensed with to hear Mr. Kyle, <br />representing the Cemetery Association, who asked that the City take over <br />and assvme perpetual care of the cemetery. After a lengthy discussion <br />Alderman Korff moved that if the Cemetary Association can raise $50,000.00 <br />--the City will take over the upkeep and give all participants perpetual <br />care. Burial lots are to be made available for non-participants who may <br />want an individual burial site. Alderman Beecroft seconded, motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Paul Rogers was heard by the Council. <br />on the action taken on his request of controlling <br />fishing in the ~an Marcos River. It was reported <br />turned over to the City Attorney. <br /> <br />He reque sted information <br />skin-diving and spear- <br />that the matter had been <br /> <br />Mr. Rogers requested the Council consider,installing approximately <br />1,500 feet of 6" water line to provide fire protection to the Aquarena <br />area. The City Manager estimated the cost of the installation to be in <br />excess of $5,500.00. After consideration, the council agreed that th~ <br />project would be placed on the list 9f desirable projects to be accom- <br />plished if and when funds were available. <br /> <br />The contract with the delinquent tax attorney will expire May 13th. <br />Alderman Beecroft moved the contract,be renewed for one (l) year and with <br />the same applicable general provisions of the old contract. Alderman <br />Korff seconded, motion carried. <br /> <br />The City has received several complimenting letters from the members <br />of the trailer caravan. Alderman Hillburn moved that the City take appro- <br />priate action, by resolution, asking them to make ~an Marcos a regular <br />assembly point for one or more times a year.
