REGULAR IAEETING HELD ON MAY 10. 1960 On the lOth day of May, 1960, at 2:00 o'clock P.M., the Governing Body of the City of San Marcos met in regular session at the City Hall, Mayor C. M. Allen presiding: I Present: Mayor C. M. Allen Alder~en: ~. R. Beecroft W. M. Davis B. D. Hillburn . Herman Korff City Manager B. R. Fuller City Secretary Judy Brackett Mrs. Roland Manske - AAUW Guests: L. J. Eastwood Mrs. Marion B. Combs Mrs. V. R. Cook ~rs. W~nroe Higgs Mr. Jack Williams Mr. Paul J. Rogers Mr. Henry C. Kyle Absent: Alderman: James Tuttle The minutes of the previous meeting were approved. I The regular order of business was dispensed with to hear Mr. Kyle, representing the Cemetery Association, who asked that the City take over and assvme perpetual care of the cemetery. After a lengthy discussion Alderman Korff moved that if the Cemetary Association can raise $50,000.00 --the City will take over the upkeep and give all participants perpetual care. Burial lots are to be made available for non-participants who may want an individual burial site. Alderman Beecroft seconded, motion carried. Mr. Paul Rogers was heard by the Council. on the action taken on his request of controlling fishing in the ~an Marcos River. It was reported turned over to the City Attorney. He reque sted information skin-diving and spear- that the matter had been Mr. Rogers requested the Council consider,installing approximately 1,500 feet of 6" water line to provide fire protection to the Aquarena area. The City Manager estimated the cost of the installation to be in excess of $5,500.00. After consideration, the council agreed that th~ project would be placed on the list 9f desirable projects to be accom- plished if and when funds were available. The contract with the delinquent tax attorney will expire May 13th. Alderman Beecroft moved the contract,be renewed for one (l) year and with the same applicable general provisions of the old contract. Alderman Korff seconded, motion carried. The City has received several complimenting letters from the members of the trailer caravan. Alderman Hillburn moved that the City take appro- priate action, by resolution, asking them to make ~an Marcos a regular assembly point for one or more times a year.
