The matter to be p~esented at the next Council meeting. <br /> <br />A request from Mr. Charles Zunker regarding an agreement of <br />1956 whereby the City had agreed to close a 15 foot alley in exchange <br />for additional footage to make Zunker Street 50 feet wide was referred <br />to the City Manager and City Attorney to prepare the necessary legal <br />documents. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Paul Rogers asked xhe Council to consider three ordinances <br />regulating "skin-diving" in ,the San Marcos River, which had been pre- <br />pared by the City Attorney. The City Manager explained that the ordi- <br />nances had been received in his office late on the morning of June 14th <br />and he had not sufficient time in which to distribute them to the mem- <br />bers of the Council for their review., Mr. Rogers asked that action be <br />deferred until the members of the Council had studied the ordinances <br />which had been prepared. <br /> <br />An ordinance regulating "spear-fishing" in the City Limits of <br />~an Marcos was tabled pending a report from the Sportsman Club and other <br />interested groups. <br /> <br />Alderman Korff introduced an ordinance and moved its adoption. <br />The ordinance which is captioned: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING THE OWNERS OF :;Et OF LOT 6, BLOCK 2, <br />.LINDSEY AND HARVEY ADDITION TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, HAYS <br />COUNTY, TEXAS, TO SHOW CAUSE WITHIN 10 DAYS WHY ABANDONED <br />HOUSE AND OUTBUILDINGS THEREON SHOULD NOT BE DESTROYED BY <br />CITY UNDER AUTHORITY Oli ARTICLE 1015, VERNON':; ANNOTATED <br />CIVIL STATUTES, AND AUTHORIZING DE:;TRUCTION OF.THE ~AME IN <br />ABSENCE OF SUCH APPEARANCE TO SHO\~ CAUSE, AND ASSE;,SING THE <br />CO::;T AGAIN::>T THE PROPERTY OWNERS. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />was read in full. Alderman Davis s&conded the motion of adoption and <br />upon roll call the ayes and nayes were: \ <br /> <br />AYE::;: Alderman Beecroft <br />Davis <br />Ko rff <br /> <br />NAYES: None <br /> <br />Whereupon, Mayor Pro-tern Tuttle declared the ordinance approved <br />and adopted. <br /> <br />The City Manager.reported that the U. S. Treasury Bonds, 2~~ <br />due 11/15/61 pledged as a reserve deposit against the 1951 Waterworks & <br />Sewer Improvement & Extension Revenue Bonds had been exchanged at par <br />for an equal amount of U. S. Treasury Bonds, 3-3/4% due 5/15/64. .The <br />exchange had been made to enable the City to obtain the additional <br />interest which amounts to $375.00 annually. <br /> <br />A request from Mr. Lee Harr for the Council to issue a parking <br />permit to the Hays County,CITIZEN was a~proved. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The City Manager reported that a contract for refuse collection <br />at the housing project zt Camp Gary had been received from the: Contract- <br />ing Officer. In the absence of the Mayor from the city, Alderman Korff <br />moved that the City Managet be instructed to execute the contract on <br />behalf of the City.
