The Mayor <br />directed the City Manager to notify the County who had agreed to <br />furnish the right-of-way, the City to construct the street. <br /> <br />The Board of Equalization submitted their n:;port for -the <br />Council's acceptance. It was the unanimous decision of the Council <br />to accept the report as subrni tted and to Ie-appoint the board for <br />the tax year 1961. The Tax Assessor joined the City Manager in <br />stating that the Board did an excellent job and is to be commended. <br />The report follows and is made a part of the minutes of this <br />meeting. <br /> <br />~gt. Trarr~el had asked to be heard by the Council regard- <br />ing the tax value placed cn his property by the Board. Since Sgt. <br />Trammel was not present, no action was taken. <br /> <br />1he Tax Assessor advised the City Manager that the <br />follDwing corrections need to be made to the tax roll: <br /> <br />Double DJyments - refunds due <br /> <br />James Jmith, <br />Feliciano Natal~ <br /> <br />Farm Lot 11 <br />J. Alderman <br />Korff seconded, motion oarried. <br /> <br />The City Mana']er was advised that a representative of the <br />Corps of Engineers had told the contractor and subcontractors on the <br />ARTC building that they wil] not have to take out permits and pay <br />the necessary fees as is set out under the City's ourrent building <br />and pluJnbing ordinances.. It was the unani.mous dEcision of the <br />Council to not deviate from the requirements set forth in the ordin- <br />ance and the contractor must pay the usual fees. The City Manager <br />was authorized to withhold utilities service to the Center until <br />such time that the permits are applied for. <br /> <br />The United :.Jations Day chairman is appointed each year <br />and the national com~ittee requested that the Mayor appoint a <br />chairman ror 1960. Alderman. Korff made the motion that /\'i1'5. Roland <br />Manske be appointed. Alderman Tuttle seconded and Mayor Allen <br />approved the appointment. <br /> <br />Alderman Korff introduoed ar. ordinanoe and moved its <br />adDption.
