<br />AN ORDIN.~NeE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE ADOPTED
<br />TllE 10th DiW OF MAY 1960 TO PHOVIDE FOR THE
<br />I~~UANCE OF ADDITIONAL GENEf~L FUND CURREN~
<br />EXPEN~E NARRANTS IN THE AMOUNT OF $15,000.00
<br />FOR THE PURPO;;E OF PAYING CURRENT OPERATING
<br />EXPHi;;E;; DURING THE H;;CAL YEAR 1960-61;
<br />PHOVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE PRINCIPAL
<br />AND lNTEHbT OF ;;AW ,jARHAN1~

<br />~HEFEA;;, it has been found necessary in carrying out the
<br />business Df the Ci.ty during the fiscal year 1960-61 to borrow money
<br />on a ternpol'ary basis fOT the purpose of paying current operating
<br />expenses; and
<br />
<br />NHEREA;;, it has been determined by the Governing Body that
<br />the most practical and satisfactory method of borro"Jing money ror the
<br />said purpose was to issue ourrent expense warrants and the City did,
<br />in fact, by Ordinance dated the 10th day of May 1960, borrow $20,000.00
<br />to pay the current operating expenses of the said City; and
<br />
<br />"!BEREA;; , it has now been determined that additional funds will
<br />be needed to pay for improvements and atDer ~xpenses deemed necessary
<br />and proper;
<br />
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT OrtDkINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE
<br />CITY OF SAN MARCOo;, TEXA;;:
<br />
<br />1. That the Ordinance adopted on the lOth day of May 1960 be
<br />amended to provide fer the issuanoe of an additional $1':',,000.00 and that
<br />such cu:rrent expense warrants of the City be issued.
<br />
<br />L. That such warrants be designated "CITY OF ~AN MARCOS GENEHAL
<br />FUND eURHENT EXPEN;;E WARHANTS, tiERIES 1960-61 A," be dated August 15, 1960,
<br />be fifteen (15) in number, numbered, consecutively, from one (1) to fifteen
<br />(15), inclusive, to be of the denomination of $1,000.00 each, all of said
<br />warrants to mature on or before January 31, 1961, bearing interest at the
<br />rate of four percent (4%) per annum from the date of delivery until paid,
<br />both principal and interest payable on or before January 31, 1961. The
<br />seal of the City shall be affixed to each of said warrants and shall be
<br />signed by the Mayor, be attested by the City Secretary and registered by
<br />the City Treasurer. ~aid warrants shall be payable to bearer.

<br />3. That each of said warrants shall be in the following form:

<br />This is to certify that the City of San Marcos, in the State of
<br />Texas, is justly indebted to, and for value received, hereby promises to
<br />pay to bearer, the sum of ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000.00) in lawful
<br />money of the United States of America, on or before the 31st day of Jan-
<br />u~ry, 1961, with interest thereon from the date or delivery hereof at the
<br />rate of four per centum (4%) per annum, such interest payable at maturity
<br />or this warrant, both principal and interest of Warrants Nos. 1 through
<br />10, inclusive, payable at the offices of the State Bank & Trust Company
<br />in San Marcos, in Hays County, Texas, on presentation and surrender of
<br />warrant, and both principal and interest of Warrants No. 11 through 15,
<br />inclusive, payable at the offices of the First National Bank in San Mar-
<br />cas, in Hays County, Texas, on presentatioCl and surrender of warrant.
