Alderman Hillburn moved that an ordinance be drafted. <br />Alderman Davis seconded, motion carried. <br /> <br />It was reported that the Wally Byam Caravan plans to spend <br />the Thanksgiving holiday in San Marcos. They will arrive about the <br />23rd of November and leave on Sunday, the 27th. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The re-appointment of Dr. Moore as City Health Officer was <br />unanimously approved by the Council. The appointment is for the term <br />September 11, 1960 through September 10, 1961. <br /> <br />The City Manager presented a report showing the square yards <br />of paving which had been done in San Marcos during the past two years <br />from General Fund monies. It was noted that there was 29,512 square <br />yards in 1959 and 39,161 square yards in 1960, or a total of over 46 <br />blocks. <br /> <br />The matter of parking and metered parking adjacent to the <br />new Federal building was discussed. Alderman Hillburn made a motion <br />that the Parking Meter Ordinance be amended to provide forI <br /> <br />a. One-hour metered parallel parking on both sides of <br />West Hutchison Street from Guadalupe westward to Post <br />Office Alley. <br /> <br />b. Twelve-minute metered, 300 angle parking on the west <br />side of Guadalupe Street northward from West Hutchison <br />to the entrance into the Federal building parking area. <br /> <br />c. One-hour metered, parallel parking on both sides of <br />Guadalupe Street from West Hutchison to West Hopkins <br />streets. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The motion was seconded by Alderman Tuttle and carried unanimously. <br />The City Manager was directed to have the amendment drawn to the <br />parking Meter Ordinance. <br /> <br />Alderman Tuttle moved that "Stop Signs" be erected at the <br />following intersections I <br /> <br />Comanche at Lindsey (stop on Lindsey) <br />Fredericksburg at Pat Garrison (stop on Pat Garrison and <br />private street) <br />Union at Hutchison (stop on Union) <br />Edward Gary at San Antonio (stop on San Antonio) <br />Prospect at Bishop (stop on Prospect) <br />Jackman at Comal (stop on Jackman) <br /> <br />Alderman Hillburn seconded, motion carried. <br /> <br />The City Manager reported to the Council the receipt of: <br /> <br />a. The Annual Inventory of Traffic Activities for 1959 <br />b. The Annual Audit of the City's financial affairs from <br />John L. Surber 8. Company <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />It was reported that the matter of a street light in the <br />rear of the property on Comanche Street owned by Miss Ethel Davis had <br />been satisfactorily settled. The pole is not on City property and the <br />LCRA has advised that the City may not erect a street light on the <br />pole. <br /> <br />Mayor Allen presented Mrs. Roland Manske with a certificate <br />of appointment as United Nations Day Chairman. <br />
