41 <br /> <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />May 11, 1981 <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Mr. James introduced for consideration an Ordinance on first reading <br />abandoning an alley in Block 37 of the Westover Addition. The Ordin- <br />ance was read in its entirety, having the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, ABANDONING, VACATING AND CLOSING AN <br />ALLEY IN BLOCK 37 OF THE WESTOVER ADDITION TO THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR THE REVER- <br />SION OF FEE IN SAID LAND AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Robert W. McDonald, III made the request for the abandonment of <br />this alley and executed a release of the City of San Marcos "from <br />any and all actions, causes of action, claims and demands of whatsoever <br />kind or nature on account of the abandonment of said alley" Mrs. <br />Norris moved to table the Ordinance until such time as the Staff could <br />make recommendations as to the best possible use for this property and <br />the cash value of same, and Mr. Brown seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. Mr. James directed the Staff to prepare such a report so <br />that the matter could be considered on the next agenda, May 26, 1981. <br /> <br />Mr. James introduced for consideration an annexation Ordinance on <br />first reading of 53.93 acres out of Juan Martin Veramendi Survey No. <br />One, Hays County, Texas (40.90 acres - Indeco Corp. (Thermon); 13.03 <br />acres - Chisos Investments). The Ordinance was read in its entirety, <br />having the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, ANNEXING TO SAID CITY A CONTIGUOUS <br />TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING 53.93 ACRES, LOCATED WITH- <br />IN THE EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF SAID CITY <br />AND LYING ADJACENT TO PRESENT CITY BOUNDARIES; EXTEND- <br />ING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF SAID CITY SO AS TO INCLUDE <br />SAID TRACT; GRANTING TO THE INHABITANTS OF SAID TRACT <br />ALL THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF THE <br />ACTS AND ORDINANCES, RULES AND REGULATIONS OF SAID CITY <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Cavazos moved to approve the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. <br />Kreczmer seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. James introduced for consideration an annexation Ordinance on <br />first reading of 6.178 acres out of J. M. Veramendi League No. Two <br />(Cummings' property). The Ordinance was read in its entirety, hav- <br />ing the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, ANNEXING TO SAID CITY A CONTIGUOUS <br />TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING APPROXIMATELY 6.178 ACRES, <br />LOCATED WITHIN THE EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF <br />SAID CITY AND LYING ADJACENT TO PRESENT CITY BOUNDARIES; <br />EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF SAID CITY SO AS TO <br />INCLUDE SAID TRACT; GRANTING TO THE INHABITANTS OF <br />SAID TRACT ALL THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER <br />CITIZENS OF THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES, RULES AND REGU- <br />LATIONS OF SAID CITY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mrs. Norris moved to approve the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. <br />James seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. James introduced for consideration an Ordinance on first reading <br />establishing deposit for garbage service when no utility service is <br />provided by the City. The Ordinance was read in its entirety, having <br />the following caption: <br /> <br /> <br />
