<br />;'V)7 <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING HElD ON FEBRUARY 14. 1961 <br /> <br />On the 14th day 'of February 1961, at 2:00 o'clock in the <br />afternoon, the Governing Body of the City of San Marcos met in <br />, regular session in the City Hall, Mayor C. M. Allen presiding. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Present. <br /> <br />Mayor <br />Aldermen. <br /> <br />City Manager <br />City Secretary <br /> <br />C. M. Allen <br />S, R. Beecroft <br />Herman Korff <br />Kenneth Sutton <br />James Tuttle <br />B. R. Fuller <br />Judy B, Brackett <br /> <br />Absent: Alderman <br /> <br />B. D. Hillburn <br /> <br />Also Present. <br /> <br />Mrs. Roland Manske, AAUW <br />Col. James Hill <br />Rev. Al Slater <br />Jack Major <br />Bobby Kinser <br />Elmer Satterwhite <br />W. C. Howard <br />Bush Ewing <br />Garland Stokes <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by the Mayor and the <br />minutes of the meetings of January lOth and 18th, 1961, were approved. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The regular order of business was dispensed with to hear a <br />delegation appearing before the Council. The Rev. Al Slater, spokes- <br />man for a group from Millview Addition, requested the Council's <br />consideration of the adoption of a "zoning" ordinance which would <br />regulate construction in the general area of Millview. Jack Major, <br />~cting in the capacity of a land owner in the area, spoke briefly <br />on the need for controls and suggested that the area bounded on the <br />north by the City Limits, on the east by Highway 81, on the south <br />by Loop 82 and on the west by Old Post Road be included in the area <br />zoned. Mr. Howard suggested that the area be extended to the South <br />to include the Hays County Memorial Hospital and suggested the South <br />Boundary he Buggs Lane. After a considerable discussion, Alderman <br />Korff made a motion tbat the matter he referred to the City Manager <br />for the preparation of a suggested ordinance and table of items to <br />he done. This would he acted upon as soon as it could he prepared. <br />This motion was seconded by Alderman Tuttle and upon roll call <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Alderman Korff introduced an Order Establishing Procedure <br />for City Officers' Election and moved its adoption. The motion was <br />seconded by Alderman Tuttle and upon roll call carried with the <br />following vote: <br /> <br />AYES, Beecroft, Korff, Sutton and Tuttle <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />NAYESJ None <br /> <br />Whereupon Mayor Allen declared the Order passed, approved and adopted, <br /> <br />The City Manager commented briefly on the improvement to <br />the City's financial condition as opposed to the same date last year. <br />
