;'V)7 REGULAR MEETING HElD ON FEBRUARY 14. 1961 On the 14th day 'of February 1961, at 2:00 o'clock in the afternoon, the Governing Body of the City of San Marcos met in , regular session in the City Hall, Mayor C. M. Allen presiding. I Present. Mayor Aldermen. City Manager City Secretary C. M. Allen S, R. Beecroft Herman Korff Kenneth Sutton James Tuttle B. R. Fuller Judy B, Brackett Absent: Alderman B. D. Hillburn Also Present. Mrs. Roland Manske, AAUW Col. James Hill Rev. Al Slater Jack Major Bobby Kinser Elmer Satterwhite W. C. Howard Bush Ewing Garland Stokes The meeting was called to order by the Mayor and the minutes of the meetings of January lOth and 18th, 1961, were approved. I The regular order of business was dispensed with to hear a delegation appearing before the Council. The Rev. Al Slater, spokes- man for a group from Millview Addition, requested the Council's consideration of the adoption of a "zoning" ordinance which would regulate construction in the general area of Millview. Jack Major, ~cting in the capacity of a land owner in the area, spoke briefly on the need for controls and suggested that the area bounded on the north by the City Limits, on the east by Highway 81, on the south by Loop 82 and on the west by Old Post Road be included in the area zoned. Mr. Howard suggested that the area be extended to the South to include the Hays County Memorial Hospital and suggested the South Boundary he Buggs Lane. After a considerable discussion, Alderman Korff made a motion tbat the matter he referred to the City Manager for the preparation of a suggested ordinance and table of items to he done. This would he acted upon as soon as it could he prepared. This motion was seconded by Alderman Tuttle and upon roll call carried unanimously. Alderman Korff introduced an Order Establishing Procedure for City Officers' Election and moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by Alderman Tuttle and upon roll call carried with the following vote: AYES, Beecroft, Korff, Sutton and Tuttle I NAYESJ None Whereupon Mayor Allen declared the Order passed, approved and adopted, The City Manager commented briefly on the improvement to the City's financial condition as opposed to the same date last year.
