<br />14 February 1961 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The recent gasoline fire was discussed by the Council <br />and the need for some type of fire control around the bulk gasoline <br />storage areas in the City. It was the City Manager's recommendation <br />that this be discussed with the safety engineers of the several <br />gasoline distribution companies serving San Marcos and their <br />assistance solicited. <br /> <br />Alderman Korff introduced a Resolution approving <br />employment of Beretta, Greenslade & Associates, Inc. of San Antonio <br />to assist in the relocation of utilities within the construction <br />area of Interstate 35 and empowering the City Manager to sign for <br />the City in all matters related thereto. This Resolution was <br />seconded by Alderman Tuttle and carried, <br /> <br />Alderman Sutton discussed the need for more publicity on <br />municipal affairs. He suggested that the City should purchase such <br />space as was needed in the local paper to keep the citizens <br />informed. Pros and cons were offered by the members of the Council <br />with no definite decision being reached.
