<br />I <br /> <br />, ~ <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING HEW ON MARCH 14. 1961 <br /> <br />On the 14th day of March, 1961, at 2:00 o'clock in the <br />afternoon, the Governing Body of the City of San Marcos met in reg- <br />ular session in the City Hall, Mayor Pro-Tern James Tuttle presiding. <br /> <br />Pre sentz <br /> <br />Mayor Pro-Tern <br />Aldermen: <br /> <br />James Tuttle <br />S. Allen <br />Herman Korff <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Mrs. Roland Manske, AAUW <br />James Hill <br />Kenneth Weatherford <br />Henry Kyle <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by the Mayor Pro-Tern and <br />the minutes of the meetings of February 14, 1961 and March 2, 1961 <br />were read and approved. <br /> <br />The first order of business was to hear from Mr. Joe <br />Rodriguez who stated he was manager and operator of the Los Angeles <br />Funeral Home, and requested that his establishment be added to the <br />list of those called for ambulance service by the Police Department <br />dispatcher. He requested that he receive the same consideration as <br />the Pennington and the Weatherford Funeral Homes. Alderman Hillburn <br />made a motion that the matteT be tabled until a full Council was <br />present or the next meeting. This motion was secanded by Alderman <br />Beecroft and carried. This action was agreeable to Mr. Rodriguez. <br /> <br />Alderman Sutton introduced an ordinance and moved its <br />adoption. The ordinance was read in full and is captioned: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CREATION OF A TRUSTEE FOR <br />THE PERPETUAL CARE AND UPKEEP OF THE SAN MARCOS CEMETERY; <br />PROVIDING FOR RULES, REGULATIONS, RECORD KEEPING, AND <br />DUTIES OF SUCH TRUSTEE; PROVIDING FOR INVESTMENT OF FUNDS; <br />PROVIDING FOR A SUCCESSOR ON FAILURE OF TRUSTEE TO ACT; <br />PROVIDING FOR THE ASSESSING AND COLLECTING OF A TAX, IF <br />REQUTRED, ON PROPERTY FOR THE UPKEEP; AND, PROVIDING A <br />SAVING CLAUSE <br /> <br />The motion of adoption was seconded by Alderman Beecroft. Upon roll <br />call the ayes and nayes Werel <br /> <br />AYES: Beecroft, Hillburn and Sutton <br /> <br />NAYES: None <br /> <br />Whereupon Mayor Pro-Tern Tuttle declared the ordinance Passed, Approved, <br />and Adopted. <br /> <br />The City Manager reported that the preliminary plans for <br />the proposed bTidge over the San Marcos River and crossing over the <br />MPRR tracks had been approved by the Missouri-Pacific Railroad, the <br />City to pay the cost of flashing signals, adjusting of wires, etc., <br />at an estimated cost of $9,850.00. It was the pleasure of the Council <br />that the City Manager negotiate with the MP afficials in an attempt <br />to get them to pay a portion of the cost of crossing the tracks. <br />
