<br />11 "Mi- <br /> <br />EE2Q1~M~I.!'Q!:! <br /> <br />WHEREAS, for the past forty~one years toe Lions Clubs <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />throughout our nation have been engaged in a project't:> aid blind, <br /> <br />crippled and handicapped children and the rehabilitation of blind <br /> <br />and crippled adults; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the San Marcos Lions Club uses the funds, <br /> <br />raised locally through the sale of candy, to aid local children <br /> <br />and adults who need assistance by treatment in local facilities <br /> <br />or at their center in Kerrville; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is only through the thoughtfulness of the <br /> <br />forty members of the San Marcos Lions Club that many local <br /> <br />children have had their sight restored and have become useful <br /> <br />citizens able to enjoy the many blessings offered to us. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, B. D. Hillburn, Mayor Pro-Tempore <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />of the City of San Marcos, do hereby declare the week of Octo- <br /> <br />ber 23-28 as "BE THANKFUL YOU CAN SEE WEEK" and do urge every <br /> <br />citizen of San Marcos to actively support the local Lions Club <br /> <br />in their most worthy project by purchasing a candy bar which will <br /> <br />pay a part of the restoration of the sight in some blind child. <br /> <br />WHEREUNTO, r have set my hand and caused the seal of <br />the City of San Marcos to be affixed tois 19th day of October, <br /> <br />A.
