Alderman Ruiz second~d <br />th~ ~tion, which pass~d unanimou~ly. <br /> <br />Alderman Swift call~d to.the attention of the City Manager that the <br />City~intain~d swrsc sign at th~ ~ntranc~ to the City is in n~~d of <br />re~airing and r~painting. <br /> <br />The City Manag~r reported to th~ Council tuat property owners in th~ <br />Cruz Addition Wer~ requesting City utilitie5. He asked if th~ City <br />could ~xt~nd s~rvicps to th~ Addition if property owners betw~pn <br />Tampico, Durango, Saltillo and Laredo Streets would de~d right-of-way <br />to the City. H~ reminded th~ Council that th~ property was partition~d <br />by the Court. The question brought up a discussion of the Subdivision <br />Ordinance. Alderman Stok~s ~xpresspd th~ opinion that sincp thlt s~ction <br />had been partitioned by the Court, it could' not be cla5sified strictlY <br />as a "subdivisionfl, and therefore, utiliti~s could not be provided. <br />Ald~rman Swift moved that the council employ Attorney Tom Oliv~r to draft I <br />a 5ubdivision ordinanc~ that h~ would b~ ready to stand by in court. <br />Ald~rman Stok~s offer~d an am~ndm~nt to the effect that the Planning <br />Commission be charg~d with revi~wing th~ existing Subdivision Ordinanc~. <br />After some discussion, Alderman Swift withdrpw his motion. Ald~rman Rulz <br />asked that the City Manag~r request Tom OliVer to review the ~xisting <br />Subdivision Ordinance. <br /> <br />The City Manager sugg~st~d that the Council might lik~ to show its <br />appr~ciation to the Volunteer Fire D~partment by sen!ing a Christmas <br />gre~ting, thanking th~m for their community s~rvice.
