AN INTERIM ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT NO BUIIDING PERMIT SHALL HEREAFTER BE ISSUED EXCSPI' WlTH THE APPROVAL OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OR THE GOVERNING BOOY OF THE CITY OF SAN MAncos, TEXAS, OR THEIR FAILURE TO ACf THEREON / I Alderman Moore seconded the motion for ~doption, and on roll call, the following vote was recordeds AYla. Moore, Ruiz, Stokes, Swift NAY. None Whereupon, the Mayor Pro-Tem declared the Ordinance ,adopted. Th~ City Manager called attention to a copy of a letter received frwm the Superintendent of the San Marcos Independent School District asking that the City include the School District in the City Urban Development Program. The letter is made a part of theSe Minutes. Aldetman StokeS commented that the City Co~ncil is on record as being desirous of assisting the School Board, and that he had discussed the matter with Eugene E. Kachtik, Field Representative from Fort Worth. Mr. Kachtik said there was no qUestion there Were available funds for assisting school districts .in acquiring land for an l"xpanded 'bullding .program. It is intl'!resting to note that there has been a marked increase in the number of automGbile taxes collected since the Court of AppealS render~ a verdict in favor of the CUy of San Marclls in the Zilllllel"lllan CUe. In order to imprOVe the collection, the Tax CGll.ctor is se.ding out the Second Netic", on 1962 taxeS this week. All who have not paid in early January w111 receive a letter advising them that 1962 taxes will be turned Over to an attorney for cellection on January 31st.
