None <br /> <br />Whereupon, the Mayor Pro-Tem declared the Ordinance ,adopted. <br /> <br />Th~ City Manager called attention to a copy of a letter received frwm <br />the Superintendent of the San Marcos Independent School District asking <br />that the City include the School District in the City Urban Development <br />Program. The letter is made a part of theSe Minutes. Aldetman StokeS <br />commented that the City Co~ncil is on record as being desirous of assisting <br />the School Board, and that he had discussed the matter with Eugene E. Kachtik, <br />Field Representative from Fort Worth. Mr. Kachtik said there was no qUestion <br />there Were available funds for assisting school districts .in acquiring land <br />for an l"xpanded 'bullding .program. It is intl'!resting <br />to note that there has been a marked increase in the number of automGbile <br />taxes collected since the Court of AppealS render~ a verdict in favor of the <br />CUy of San Marclls in the Zilllllel"lllan CUe. In order to imprOVe the collection, <br />the Tax CGll.ctor is se.ding out the Second Netic", on 1962 taxeS this week. <br />All who have not paid in early January w111 receive a letter advising them that <br />1962 taxes will be turned Over to an attorney for cellection on January 31st. <br /> <br />The Personn",l POlicy which the City Manager was directed to hav", ready for the <br />Council's stUdy prior to DeC. 11th was disCUSSed. The City Manager r~ported <br />that the Policy is net in a form which he considers adequate for presentation <br />to the Council. It will requir", a great deal of stUdy on the part of the , <br />City Manager, and also consultation with department h",adS and other personnel.
