(76: 4fI.f-' 131 AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING CERTAIN TERRITORY ADJOINING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, INTO SAID CITY OF SAN MARCOS. I WHEREAS, the owner of a strip of land, said strip of land not exceeding one-half (1/2) mile in width, being contiguous and adjacent to the present residents, qualified to vote for members of the State Legislature, has petitioned the City of San Marcos to annex said strip of land within its municipal limits, a copy of said petition being hereto attached, marked Exhibit II A" and made a part hereof for all pertinent purposes; and, WHEREAS, it will be of signal advantage to the City of San Marcos to annex said strip of land within its municipal limits; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, that the said strip of land, hereinafter described by metes and bounds, be and the same is hereby received as a part of the City of San Marcos, and the corporate limits of the City of San Marcos are hereby extended so as to include said strip of land, and from henceforth the territory so received and annexed shall be a part of the City of San Marcos, and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of said City in accordance with law. SAID STRIP OF LAND is described by metes and bounds as follows: I BEGINNING at an iron pipe, same being the North corner of a tract of land conveyed by and described in a deed, dated May 1, 1952, now of record in Volume 153, pages 234-35 of the Hays County Deed Records, wherein Milton M. Hughes was grantor and Elwood M. Soechting was grantee, and such point being also the Northwest corner of a 17.0 ft. roadway, as well as being a point in the Southeast I ine of U.S. Highway 81; and, THENCE with the Southeast line of US Highway 81 N. 39043' E. 17.0 ft. to an iron pipe for the North corner of the tract or parcel of land hereby conveyed; and, THENCE S. 490E. 425.4 feet to an iron pipe set for the East comer of the tract or parcel of land hereby conveyed; and, THENCE S. 34015' W. 147.6 feet to an iron pipe set for the SOJth comer of the tract or parcel hereby conveyed; same being the South comer of the 2.0 acre tract of land conveyed by deed from Lon O. Lester, et ux, to Milton M. Hughes; and, THENCE, N. 44035' W. 298.3 feet to an iron pipe set for the West corner of the tract or parcel of land hereby conveyed, same being the East corner of the above mentioned Soechting tract; and, THENCE N. 49OW. 150 feet to the place of BEGINNING.
