There being no other nomination, the Mayor called
for a vote, with the following resultl

AYE:
NAY,
ABSTAINING:

Pool, Ruiz, Stokes, Swift
None
Moore

I

Whereupon, the A~yor declared the motion carried.

Next order of business was adoption of an Ordinance appointing
certain City officials. Alderman Ruiz enquired why the City Manager
was not among the list of officials. Mr. Fuller replied that he was
employed "at the pleasure of the Council". Dr. Moore moved that
Albert Walker be named City Attorney. Alderman Stokes suggested the
name of B.R. Fuller as City Manager be added to the list of officials,
and that Alderman Moore include it in his motion. Alderman Moore
moved the adoption of the Ordinance, with the addition of B.R. Fuller
as City Manager and the insertion of the name of Albert Walker as
City Attorney. Caption of the Ordinance, which was read in full, is
as follows;

AN ORDINANCE APPOINT ING CERf AIN CITY 9FFICIALSj
FIXING THEIR COMPENSATION, DUTIES AND TERMS OF OFFICE

Alderman Stokes seconded the motion for adoption and on roll call, the
following vote was recorded:

AYE: Moore, Pool, Ruiz, Stokes, Swift
NAY: None

I

Whereupon, the Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and
Adopted.

An Ordinance appointing a Recorder for Corporation Court was presented
for the Council's consideration. The name of Mr. E.G. Wiley, jr.
was proposed. As some doubt was expressed that he would accept another
full term of office, Alderman Stokes moved that adoption of the Ordinance
be tabled until Judge Wiley could be contacted. Alderman Ruiz seconded
the motion, which passed unanimously. Alderman Stokes directed the
City Manager to request Judge Wiley to state in writing his wishes in
the matter of serving as Corporation Court Recorder.

Next item of business on the agenda was the designation of personnel
authorized to sign vouchers, pay roll checks and Firemen!s Pension
Fund checks. Alderman Moore moved that the same policy as in the past
be followed, with the City Manager signing all checks, and the Mayor
or Mayor Pro-Temc,cpuntersigning.
