regular meeting, april 9, 1963 page three

# ,;5-"

asked if they could discuss the items one at a time. Alderman
Swift stated he had the floor, and continued reading. When he
concluded, he moved that the Resolution be tabled until the
April 16 meeting. Alderman stokes seconded the motion, which
passed unanimously.

I

Mayor Taylor introduced the matter of a traffic survey at the
intersection of Guadalupe street and Highway 123. Alderman Stokes
moved that the City Manager be directed to request Mr. Ed Bluestein
of the state Highway Department to make a traffic survey at the
underpass where Guadalupe Street meets 123. Alderman Ruiz seconded
the motion, which passed unanimously.

Mr. Martin R. Hoover requested to come before the Council. He said
he was a member of the Wally Byam Caravan Club and was interested in
buying some property where friemds could come and park their trailers.
The property he is considering is outside the City Limits and he made
a request that the City make an exception of his case and guarantee
him all City services. Mayor Taylor asked him if he would be willing
to petition coming into the City Limits. Mr. Hoover said, yes, if it
were agreeable to the other people living in the neighborhood. Alderman
Stokes explained that the Council had recently adopted a policy of not
serving anyone outside the City Limits, and while they appreciated the
members of the Wally Byam Club meeting in San Marcos, and wanted to do
everything possible to encourage more to come, the City could not set
aside its own regulations. ,
of 0 .....e.-Cc i\} u U~'.G!...
